- Finally decided to seek professional help for my social awkwar…
social awkwardness is usually the result of some underlying problem with your self image. That being said, such a thing is tons easier to treat than many other things and might not even be pathological. The fact that you've gone around with it for so long in what I presume to be adulthood is strange to me, but don't worry, you'll be fine eventually.
- There are so many astroturfing shills for the military on this…
Military medical care is faster and better than civilian medical care in all categories. Example: buddy of mine gets drunk, climbs a flagpole on his day off, falls off, breaks his fucking spine.
1. He's in Korea, he's taken to Korean hospital because none of the US bases have the equipment to help him, stabilized over months, family is flown out to see him
2. Flown out to Japan for better facility off base yet again, family flown with him, stabilized
3. Flown out to Hawaii same reason, also off base, stabilized enough to his the main shores
4. Flown out to best spinal care facility on earth, which is in his home state of Virginia, also off base.
5. Everything start to finish is paid for completely. He's chaptered out of the military Medically Retired at 100%, in a wheelchair the rest of his life.
Conclusion: is military healthcare the best? No but it'll get you the best healthcare. I've got a Korean fake tooth, an American lack of wisdom teeth taken out off base, and the VA removed my appendix and gave me custom insoles to fix skeletal issues (one leg shorter than the other). Despite the news the VA is often faster than traditional medicine just lacking hospitality, and often relies on outpatient visits anyways so they literally just send you elsewhere and pay to get shit done there instead.
> "Waste of taxpayer money"
don't use this defense. Most money is just numbers. There's no gold standard countries just make up how much money they have it's all a sham.
> "Recruit NEETs"
Read Malcom Gladwell's book "Outliers". Military is Employment. We will Educate and Train anyone needing it. Who gives a shit what you did before. You tell me what the military is supposed to be looking for, hmm? What prior particular set of skills is a recruiter looking for? We stopped profiling in the 90's. We learned our lesson. Hell, we stopped taking the desperate past 2010, we learned our lesson there too. Take the ASVAB. It will determine what you can do. What you do with your benefits from there is up to you.
> "get a wheelchair"
Compare the death by accident rate for any given American state. Add the death by murder rate. Now compare that number to the exact rates for the military. On average you are 6 times safer in the military than you are outside the military. In my home state of Illinois you're 10 times safer in the military than out, due to the high murder rate there. Lowest I've found is twice as safe as the local populace, which was in a country already pretty safe. Terrorists literally target civilians exclusively and the accident rate is extremely low for careful service members, what the fuck are you thinking?
> "influx of excuses why you can't join"
This is the kind of shit I'm talking about right here. No research whatsoever, just raw, plain bullshit about how much you know about the military when you don't know shit. Congrats.

Heya lad. Early congratulations on maintaining your purity and ascending beyond the mundane mortality.
Don't fuck this up by getting a hooker and soon you can join your comrades over here and live the rest of your days in misery, self-deprecation and depression:

Hokking up by just being social like a normal human being y'know.. Neither you nor anon is right at all since you are only lokking at the outer 10% of people on each side of the scale (stacies and female autists with no self esteem). The other 80% are fucking normal..

don't worry, you don't lose much for being spoiled, spoilers are only bad because you think you're missing out on a specific experience, but actually you're more likely to enjoy it if you know shit going in.
- The army protects rapists more than the Catholic church. As lo…
Sweet, sweet, justice.
That is super bullshit. everything about that comment is completely wrong. If anything the army USE to be like that but for a long time they have been making programs to help victims confess and bring justice to rapists. They even advise other soldiers to help them out and help avoid these situations. The only way someone gets away with it is if someone doesnt say something.
the army has ended entire fucking careers over accusations of rape. Ive personally seen NCOs lose their squads and platoons over a female soldier saying she was sexually harassed let alone assaulted.
We sit through so god damn many Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention briefings every year that I would literally rather be raped by troop of baboons than sit through another one. Most people in the army go out of their fucking way (at least combat arms) to stay as far away from female soldiers as possible without someone else accompanying them because the Army takes this shit so seriously.
So in short, go fly a kite.
Wouldn't need all those precautions if it wasn't a real problem
Yeah, OR there's a decades-long campaign to demonize men and push the massively destructive feminist narrative of "women good, men bad".
but these precautions are in place because the army does care about stopping this shit from happening, opposing what the tard in comment 93 said. Ofcourse its a problem, but then again its a problem fucking everywhere- theres no one race, religion, or field of employment that is doing all the raping, its a shitty human thing.
The SHARP classes are worse than marble sized kidney stone but we really need them
Absolute bullshit. Source: NSWO O-2.
or don't, i really don't give a fuck
I never knew anyone that got raped, had anyone in my company been raped, we would have made sure the rapist died during the next attack.
Or he'd have gotten taken out by a "stay bullet"
The working plan was to stab somebody to death near where a rocket hit and act like we were giving them first aid for shrapnel wounds
ours was just have them go in the general direction of the ANA during a tic.
Yeah, but usually the guys that are going to rape somebody arent the same ones that are going to risk themselves. Mostly, I just did preventative stuff, like making sure the guys who were creeps knew I would enjoy killing them if they did anything
we had several incidents in the surrounding area where people (locals and other units) just fell into abandoned wells- because fuck capping them or anything lets just leave open god damned holes.
Everyone knew that if anything serious happened (not just rape, seeing as it wasnt really an issue in a unit of all dudes) it'd be mighty easy to end up in one of those holes that no one happened to see while we were on patrol.
I was thinking of Fullmetal Alchemist where during the war a commanding officer was pretty much throwing his soldiers' lives away for his personal glory. One of his underlings noted that the leading cause of death for an officer in the field is getting hit by a stray bullet. Said underling then shoots him while everyone agrees it was a stray bullet.
- I severely doubt he weighed the pros and cons of being employed
Kickass Fact Comp #99
I mean he could've reasoned that when he does work he gets rewarded, and that his life is generally better now than before, and been content there because of that
