Isn't fire itself technically plasma?
Yes and no. Fire can become plasma if it's hot enough. But basically fire is just a chemical reaction between gases.
I would say they are pretty different though
Since airbending is about manipulating the air around you, while firebending is about using the fire within you
The thing about bending is that it doesn't really require "specific techniques". You could use earthbending techniques to bend air if you really wanted to. You don't even need techniques to bend. The whole point of the techniques was to find the best ways of utilizing the elements. Humans studied the first masters and mimicked how they would bend and then developed their own techniques based off theirs. Airbenders mimicked Sky Bison, Firebenders mimicked dragons, Earthbenders mimicked badger moles, and Waterbenders mimicked the moon. You could really do
to bend. Hence why something as simple as a sneeze can result in airbending. Remember when Harmonic Convergence happened and new airbenders popped up? A lot of them had no way to control it and definitely did not know any techniques, but still had the ability to airbend.
My ass manipulates gas.
Fire is plasma, not gas.
Fire is the rapid oxidation of whatever your fuel source is.
Plasma is literally ionized gas you tard
Plasma is technically a separate state of matter from gas, however fire isn't actually plasma anyway so he's still wrong
Gas is literally very hot liquid you tard
By that logic liquid is just a really hot solid.
You start with a solid. You Heat it up and the molecules break apart, and it becomes a liquid. You Heat it up further and it vaporizes and becomes a gas. You Heat it up even further and the gas ionizes and becomes a plasma.
technically yeah, a liquid is just a hot solid, or a state of matter containing more thermal energy than the previous state.
Yes, and that's why it works.
However, that doesn't mean that this type of firebending is taught there. If you look at all other types, it's mainly focussed around martial arts. Kicks, hits, stomps. Extensions of themselves rather than a way to make the surroundings work for them.
Here not only Zuko doesn't use a martial arts, but also uses the fire in his direct surroundings to attack rather than creating his own. He really is fighting like an airbender in that move.
Oh my, you actually have a very good vision of how bending works.
Your line of thought is identical to mine.
So tell me, did LoK trigger you as much as it did me?
LoK was fine.
The animation was good and that's all I can say about it that's positive except for maybe specific characters like Tenzin.
one of the only thing i liked about LoK (Except for Tenzin) was the story of how the avatar cycle started.
Not even in the same league as AtlA but I really liked what they did with the world.
Tell a new story in the same world but also show how that world changed. Tell a different story instead of just a rehash.
There was still a ton wrong with it though.
"Tell a new story in the same world but also show how that world changed. Tell a different story instead of just a rehash."
That's the kind of generic compliment you could give just about every remake/reboot/sequel.
You could use those same words to describe Teen Titans Go, the new Powerpuff Girls, etc.
It's damning with faint praise if the biggest compliment is "they did something different instead of just re-airing the episodes".
Yeah but I'm not knowledgeable enough to go into the deeper stuff. I still think LoK was fun to watch on it's on merits. Problems arrive when it's compared to AtLA because the latter is just so incredible. I also think LoK suffered from not knowing from the start how many seasons they would get which meant that unlike AtLA they couldn't plan something out over the entire series and instead needed to create a new problem every series.
Well, apparently vortexicon agrees with you.
I think they should have had integrity as writers and told Nickelodeon "We don't have anything else good prepared, give us a while" instead of succumbing to greed and churning stuff out for money and I will judge the writers for that.
The problem I think is that the plan was to have two small seasons. Sort of like a mini-series. But then the hype around it made Nickelodeon demand that they make more and longer seasons which fucked with the planned story.
Well as long as vortexicon agrees with you, I guess that makes you correct.
It couldn't keep my attention with it. I thought it was boring. I also was very busy when it aired so I didn't really get that far into it. Maybe I should just to see what it's all about.
No, you shouldn't.
Give it a shot. It's free online, why not?
Time. I have a very tight schedule consisting of shitposting, sleeping and... sometimes eating.
