The game-play is pretty awesome but the story line is a little off to me...
So in the game (not really spoilers because you know this from the trailers) you and a bunch of other rich kids decide to go on vacation to a random island, then things turn to ****.
The guy you are, Jason, is a 20 something, handsome, rich, intelligent, slacker. I discovered my issue with the game when I realized how nonchalant Jason is for most of the game, like he's not taking the fact that he and his friends where kidnapped and now stranded on an island. It's like he see's it as one big joke which is ,even though I know it is a video game, very annoying. None of the characters seem to take it seriously ESPECIALLY Jason. They kind of have that "I'm rich and white, so nothing bad can happen to me" mentality. Like at the worst time possible, one of the characters will say something so mundane and pointless to their situation, that it will upset you.
So either Ubisoft NAILED the rich, pompous, and non-dynamic characters they were going for, or this is just a bad storyline. It may sound a bit over-analytical but really pay attention next time you play. I'm sure you'll get upset too. IDK I guess i was expecting more of a nathan drake character and got Dead Island 2, which wasn't terrible just not what I was expecting
So Instead of the original storyline the one in my head is that he, his younger brother, and their friends were there for a archeological internship and his older brother happened to be on leave and decided to come along, and then things went to ****, their entire group was sold into slavery and now Jason must take action. :p it makes the storyline MUUUCH better
