So you decided to illustrate your point that 'making fun of someone is wrong' by making fun of someone?

there's a difference between making fun of someone because they are retarded and making fun of someone because they are being a dick.

I'm just going to hope you were thumbed down because you were anon and because of the bandwagon effect.
I refuse to think people are this hypocritical.

A retard doesn't choose to be retarded, whereas a fat person becomes fat through their lifestyle choices. Making fun of them is very different. If you're fat and don't like being looked down on then quite the sedentary, buccal packing lifestyle you lead.

"Eye for an eye makes the whole world blind."
No valid point was ever made with hypocrisy.

So if one who has murdered ten people is put on death row, you would fight to keep him alive. Sometimes giving someone a taste of their own medicine is the only way for justice to be done.

Yes I would fight for that criminal to stay alive. Stooping to their level is ridicolous. We view ourselves as above them, why not act like it?

It wouldn't be stooping to their level, we would be putting an end to one who brought pain to families by killing a member. He made his choice, he killed, and he should pay with his own life.

What would that accomplish exactly? Would it bring the said member back? Would the family feel happy and simply forget it ever happened?

No, it wouldn't bring said member back, but it would ensure, without a doubt, that that particular criminal wouldn't anyone else. The family won't forget what happened, but it would help prevent any other family from feeling the pain. Will we always have criminals? of course, but at least we won't be taking it easy on them and they will see that they won't be given special treatment for a wrongdoing.

The death penalty does not deter crime. And what a waste of human life, and how are you so sure that the criminal does not have a valid explanation for their crime. A crime of passion (your wife cheats on you and sucks a mans dick in your face - you're gonna get pretty mad, could kill somebody) for example. The point is, all crimes need to be handled differently and a punishment given to rapist A should not automatically be given to rapist B. Prison needs to be more tailored to the individual prisoner and in actually trying to make them a productive member of society again.

It certainly deters crime more than putting them in a prison with food and health care, I know its not all sunshine and roses, but dp deters crime more. There is no truly valid reason for a crime. Even if in said reason, one shouldn't kill for that. I'd be pissed, but killing isn't the answer for that. Why should rapist A be treated any differently than rapist B, they both committed a horrible crime. Im not saying they should get the chair instantly, but when one has killed repeatedly, prison definitely didn't work.

It isnt about hypocrisy, it is about justice and punishment, in that situation what would they have done? Ignored her? I mean I guess this would probably make her feel empowered and just keep doing it to people, maybe she keeps doing this and ends up failing in life because of her arrogant nature, maybe she does it to the wrong person and they attack her. I mean at least with this it will at least make her consider the pain she has caused others and not do it again even though it probably wont.

If thats the case why don't we fly planes into buildings in the middle east instead of killing the taliban.
The system you just explained is like if a kid starts crying so you start shouting "WAHHHH WAHHHH" in its face.
