Harrison Ford, Making Good Movies Better
The crew spent an entire day shooting the scene
where Han Solo is lowered into the machine to be
frozen in Carbonite. His line in response to Princess
Leia saying she loved him was supposed to be "l love
you too." After hours and hours imtrying,
couldnt get it to sound right. After getting
frustrated by the bad line, Ford responded in one
shot with "l know." It sounded so perfect, they used
that shot in the movie.
This scene was supposed to be an epic sword
fight. It was going to be one of the highlights of
the movie. Seeing as how it was shot on
location, Ford ended up getting a stomach bug
the day this scene was shot. To keep from
having him run between the toilet and the shoot
they decided to make an impromtu change to
shorten it.
