You're not totally wrong: Noob Saibot didn't show up in Mortal Kombat until the 2nd game, and wasn't a playable character until the 3rd game... He's the resurrected spirit (or a clone I can't remember which) of the original Sub Zero who was killed in the first tournament by Scorpion...

if you mean sub zeros and not just ninjas then there are two off them bi-han and kuai liang. bi han is the older brother he becomes noob after dying and the younger brother take the code name of sub zero

There are two Sub-Zeros. They are brothers, but one of them dies at eh hands of scorpion (he was misled) and the younger Sub-Zero wanted to avenge him.
