This time I'm going to try to put less text on its own and put the relevant Parts with the pictures which I took more of this time. If you didn't see my previous post basically I'm playing Zelda 1 for the first time and was no walkthrough whatsoever and I'm chronicling my progress with text and pictures instead of your typical let's play.
So I was I was exploring I found my way through the Lost Woods which led me into this graveyard. I found out by touching most of the Tombstones you summon ghosts that can't be harmed by anyway I know but I figured one of them must have a secret or something right? Through trial and error I eventually did find one that didn't summon a ghost but didn't move, no idea what to do with that, and one that did move which had what I'm assuming is an even better sword.
Picture here is what I'm assuming to be the master sword. I thought the sort of had was the master sword but I'm guessing not if they're still a better sword in the game. 8 hearts wasn't enough nor the nine I had. I checked back after a later part of this post with 10 hearts and it still wasn't enough. My guess is it might be 12 hearts. Kind of a shame I can't have this awesome looking sword yet but it'll be something to come back to after I beat two more dungeons Maybe.
Still unable to find level 2 or level 5 eventually stumbled upon level six and hesitantly... I entered and let me tell you I did not have a fun time in this one at all. It's very hard and without any kind of Defense upgrade or knowledge of the game the Wizards just kept destroying me over and over and over. Specifically the blue ones. I eventually figured out they only fire when they're facing your direction while the orange ones will just warp around and aim at you from there. It's a deadly combo and very annoying that only bombs and the sword seem to work on them. I did make some progress through though. Eventually though I decided to venture off in search of better gear or an easier dungeon coming back to this one later in the future.
I always knew of this meme and now I found a couple of these guys although I'm going to only upload the one time I found one. I've gotten a decent knack for figuring out where to put bombs in the Overworld to find hidden passages. It's not as obvious and later Zelda games but there's usually a suspiciously flat wide part of a wall and I usually try for those even if it's out of successful I've mostly been correct thus far. It feels good finding Secrets like this on your own.
After some more exploring getting more rupees and it's stuff like that ... I eventually found another ass-whole old man quote which is what I've referred to them as so far in my head. I have no idea what he means by this but maybe there's a tree I need the burn or bomb or something like that and it'll have a cool heart container or something like that for me to find.
On my never-ending quest to find level 2 I stumbled upon level 9?! I knew better than even waste my time trying and any of the room so I just walked right back out of there and decided to keep looking for level 2, I can't even beat level 6 yet! At least I know where it is now. Assuming I can remember this spot when I finally need to go back here. I just remember it was under a statue or something near the top-left quadrant of the map.
So as it so happens my quest for level 2, or level 5, continues. I was messing around with the statues and managed to find what looks to be the power bracelet? The game is phenomenally awful at telling me what things are and I haven't had the presence of mind to look at things in the instruction manual. I just recognized it from a Link's Awakening so I'm assuming that's what it is and it seems to be correct as I can push these weird snail looking rocks around. At this point I could only assume I could move that gravestone I could move before and I didn't go check it yet it still is unable to budge for some reason. However I managed to stumble upon the level 8!? Now this one I did explore a little bit and did make some decent progress but not a whole lot. There's this mean room that has like five or six blue darknuts and these statues infinitely shooting these annoying projectiles and I couldn't kill more than 3 of the dark nuts before I would drop dead so I decided to go a different way and discovered something!
The room proceedings the item was a brutal fight with a gibdos and two different colored dark nuts and I believe those annoying little blue bubbles that stop you from using your sword. I just remember barely getting through the fight with my life and being really confused as to what I had found.
So I grabbed this spell book I guess and decided to move on to better pastures and not try to bang my head against the little brick wall fighting those dark nuts over and over. Again... Could not beat level 6 wasn't having any better luck here.
Eventually I made my way past these really painful red and blue centaurs and bombed a hole in the wall of the mountain and stumbled upon this cave! I didn't know what the meat did nor did I need any small keys and I couldn't afford whatever this blue item was but it looked important so I made a mental note to come back to it when I had enough rupees. At this point I was absolutely losing my patience with the game! I had made so much progress last night and he knew I was struggling to find level ******* 2! The other dungeons I had were too hard and I couldn't figure out how to find it levels 2 or 5 and I was ready to lose my ****.
On my journey for the unfindable level 2 I discovered this little quick transport system with my ability to push Big Blocks around. Not much else to say here.
Eventually I had the brilliant idea to explore that little Forest Area close to where you spawn in the game a little more thoroughly. Through sheer luck or determination I finally found a level 2 and it was a joke compared to everything I've been through today. I don't even remember if I got hit or not but I went through room by room by room clearing everything out.
Eventually I run into another ass hole old man. I'm beginning to think there's at least one or two of these in each dungeon to try to give you pointers and to be fair a few have been somewhat helpful but most of them just pissed me off because it's always a dead-end room. Regardless I took his information and assumed I'd have to feed some bombs to a big ass lizard just like an Ocarina of Time.
Lo and behold I have my 9th heart, my fourth piece of the Triforce an easy Victory under my belt for level two. I was 100% right with the bombs and dodongo and it was kind of a joke how quickly I breezed through everything here. At least my spirits were back and I made some more progress towards the final goal of reassembling the Triforce and taking down that pig **** Gannon.
