Alright, Hunters! Today we have some fat, juicy, Well-Done gossip that's bee spreading around the MonHun community about MHXX; Can we guess what new monster is being added to MHXX? It's a tad confusing at first, but it'll make sense, I swear.
So, when MHX came out, it's logo has four symbols around the X, the Ancients' symbols for the Elite 4.
Here's a better look at the symbols. The north is glavenus, the east is tamamitsune, the south is astalos, and the west is gammoth.
It's a bit hard to see the resemblance, but it's there in these tribal carvings.
Well, with 6 being a big number being thrown around in MHXX, with 6 hunting styles, MHXX has announced to have 6 flagships: The Elite 4, as well as the new elderdragon, Barufaruku (being called Valvalk by the community), and the massacre demon diablos, king of the deviants.
Well, their carvings are seen on the MHXX logo.
Valvalk is the northern carving. Once again, it's a bit hard to see the resemblance at first.
The south is the massacre demon, but upside down.
Here it is, right-side-up. Kinda hard to say its not diablos.
However, there's a 7th symbol on the logo, when turned 90 degrees to the left, looks like this. A lot of people are theorizing this is a 7th flagship for XX, but what it is, is a mystery. Some say squids, others say turtles. Well, following these trends as well as other proof, I've broken down what 3 returning monsters can be this 7th symbol's beastie.
Tsukami hasn't been seen since Gen 2, as is known for being a flying octopus crossed with a vacuum. While possibly a 3rd species of yama, some say the 7th symbol resembles a yama mouth, and the three little balls are great thunderbugs, known to live within the Yamas' forests.
This is further backed up by two things in the MHXX Trailer: We see Great Thunderbugs roaming around in the Ruined Ridge, and the Ruined Ridge itself resembles a large tower similar to where yamas are traditionally fought.
A frontier-only monster, but some believe it may be getting added to the main series. Lore-wise, it is the red god, brother to the white god, ukanlos, and black god, akantor. Red, white, and black have been mentioned in game, but Odi has never shown up in the man series. Some think the circles are cannons on it's shell (yes, it has cannons).
This idea is backed up by a few things. The first is that the Old Desert from MonHun2, is being added to MHXX. In Frontier, this is also where you fight Odi himself.
The second is, well, that it's the third god mentioned in lore.
Third, it's Frontier-like design could be ignored as Valvalk looks as Frontier-like as it gets.
Finally, it would be the third frontier monster added to the main series, the first two being Lavasioth and Hypnocatrice. Devs have said they've wanted to add Frontier monsters to the main series for years, and they could be taking initiative.
Some think that it could be a nakarkos subspecies. Known how it's high intelligence, like making different weapons out of bones, some think that the icon looks too mechanical to be a natural monster. Some say it could be a nakarkos that found either a dead Anti-Wyvern Weapon (aka Ancient-made Frankenstein's Monster) or uses ruined Ancient weapons (like ballistas and dragonators) as weapons and armor.
This is backed up by the fact tons of Ancient ruins are underwater, the natural home of the nakarkos. One could easily grabbed some gear and gone landside.
Well, what do you think it is? This has caused quite a stir globally in Monster Hunter groups. Could it be a returnee? Something new? I've set up a poll for folks to vote what they think it is. And if you think it's something else, comment below!
What do you think the 7th symbol belongs to?
Yama Tsukami (or a new species of Yama)
Something else! (Comment below!)
