Do you send a competent doctor in a field combat medic role? Or is she just a normal soldier before she got a medical doctorate?
Because it is too risky to send a real doctor to be a dangerous field medic, when she can be more useful in a triage center, away from the frontline.
This comic seems to suggest she became a soldier who got a basic medical training, got a field medic role, then survive a tour of duty, got a medical doctorate and degree in various medical field, and then become Mercy with all her gadgets.

Good point, but given how it points out "First time on field," I'm guessing that the first part is before combat. We assume the top is somewhere in between, and the last image is after.

I guess we are supposed to fill in the blanks, like she lost it or something. I dunno mate.

No, field medics are not real doctors, they are just butchers with a red cross slapped on their helmets.

This is why I'm glad I was EOD/demolition, rather than a medic. If you fail at disarming a bomb, at least you won't live long enough to regret it. You fail to save your fellow soldier and it sticks with you forever.

I had a idea like this for an over-watch champ

Except it's a former boot black-watch medic that was caught in the over-watch HQ explosion

They couldn't find his body under the rubble but he dragged himself out later due to pure spite and meager supplies, later shacking up with Talon due to misaligned anger and prior connections

I thought of the idea when someone mentioned Talon needed a medic, and there was no truly close combat healer, he's just bitter medic asshole missing most of his features due to scar tissue

I had an idea for one that was a giant, Pre-Omnic Crisis, Field Resupply Droid.
He was locked in an old US History museum and forced to listen to Presidential speeches from the holograms there. After 20 years of that **** he went insane and adopted the personality of several US presidents, coming to known simply by the title of "Mr. President".

Mr. President himself is a large, walking arsenal, sporting countless conventional weapons stored on racks in two big weapon pods on his shoulders.

His primary ability is wielding two firearms at once, one in each hand, and being able to swap them out for a different firearm rather than reload. (Swapping would take about the same time as reloading.) The player can let Mr. President swap weapons automatically, which randomizes the weapon pulled out, or manually switch weapons with a brief onscreen interface.

His available weapons would include:
>Shotgun
>Machine Gun
>DMR type Rifle
>Rocket Launcher

His secondary ability would be the ability to deploy one of 3 types of Ammo Packs, which grant a buff to allies, making them more effective versus certain enemies. These ammo packs would be selectable by the player before they could be dropped, but only one can be dropped at a time. These ammo buffs include:

>Hollow Point: Does More damage to unarmored characters, like Tracer and Genji
>Armor Piercing: Does more damage to armored characters like Bastion and Torbjorn
>EMP: Does more damage to shields, like those placed by Orisa or used by Reinhardt.

His Ult, "2nd Amendment" would have him holster his current weapons, then open his weapon pods and unload all 8 of them at once for massive damage output in front of him like Roadhog's Whole Hog or Pharah's JUSTICE.

Best part about him, his skins would come with different voice sets.
Default would be an FDR sounding voice.
"Gold" would sound like Donald Trump
Black would be Barack Obama
Wooden would quote George Washington
Concrete/Stone would quote Richard Nixon
Wooden w/ Bear Pelts and Moose Antlers would quote Theodore Roosevelt.
1980's Car or Movie themed would quote Ronald Reagan.
And so on and so forth.
