I'm posting something that's not a conversion after being gone for a week and a half?! Oh the humanity! Naw just playing I got more planned to do but was gone on vacation and due to medical reasons! Since I don't got a conversion I thought I'd share a story!
So over this past weekend I introduced my brother to 5e and he was Claytor, the dwarven fighter. My wife played as well being a bard half-elf named Symphony Magnifique, I played a cleric firbolg and was the DM as well. He was traveling with a caravan to a small town and there happened to be a traveling merchant half orc named Porter. He tries to negotiate a health potion for 5 gold, rolls a natural one, and the orc decides to offer the short man a stool, and 30 gold for the potion instead (I was being a super nice dm to the newbie). He also got a free sample packet of aloe vera.
They are crossing over a bridge and lightning strikes it bringing the party to the river below where goblins nearby take advantage of it to loot the traveling caravan. Claytor convinces the goblins, with the help of Symphony’s calm emotions, that he’d trade them a wonderful absolutely normal stool in exchange to not attack and steel from caravan. And he succeeds.
The party then learns from the goblins they’ve been serving a blue dragn wyrmling who’s been having the goblins steal and gather a hoard for it. So naturally the three heroes go and fight the dragon and Claytor dealt the final blow. How do you ask? By cutting it across the chest and as it screamed out in anguish he shoved the aloe vera down it’s throat literally killing the dragon, with a packet of aloe vera.
TLDR; Newb dwarven fighter convinces goblins not to attack for a stool and shoves aloe-vera down a dragons throat to kill it, and succeeds.
Gosh I love Dungeons and Dragons…
