Last night we were in a battle: my human warlord, a human duelist, a dual wielding explorer-warrior, a dark paladin, a minotaur barbarian, a tiefling warlock and an elf seeker.
We boarded the shores with our ship and jumped on the beach the axe and shield dark paladin, the greataxe barbarian and my greatsword wielding warlord: we charged against thirty or more soldiers, while the duelist and the EW kept throwing shurikens and bolts to enemies from the flanks. The seeker stayed in the ship while the warlock teleported around the battlefield to fight archers.
It was a huge battle (it lasted 4 hours) and by the end we were all exhausted, with almost no hitpoints and powers (we are playing 4.0e). My character deals a huge amount of damage to the final boss, an armor clad human wielding two greatswords at a time. He hits me and leaves me almost dead, and I retaliate using my combat style.
The dark paladin, by the way, was already fleeing to loot the fortress while we all fighted against the boss at the gates. We are all at the edges of our seat, because we know the GM can kill any of us at any time because all the enemies are really buffed.
We know that when the boss gets bloodied he will do some kind of special move and one of us will die.
Suddenly, the seeker, who was standing twenty meters away from the fight, stands up his seat.
"I shoot the dark paladin in the neck."
Bastard was running away as fast as he could.
Seeker aims his mechanical greatbow, shoots. The dark paladin gets hit, bleeds to death three turns later. Seeker throws his greatbow and pulls a short sword, runs next to the enemy.
"Wtf are you doing?"
"I'm gonna tank him." He says with an smug smile.
Hits the boss, it gets bloodied. Screaming at the top of his lungs, the boss throws a greatsword and gets to hit the fragile, leather armor wearing seeker with his 6d12+bonuses special attack. Just as the sword is about to hit him, he uses a skill to stop the attack.
"I grab his arm, stab him and kick him."
The boss gets pushed by the kick.
Now the real trick he was trying to pull here is that my warlord has an special style of combat that allows him to strike twice if the enemy moves out of my turn. The warlord gets in my range with that move, and I hit him with my blazing fullblade with a natural 20.
Full table stands up as I decapitate the boss and high five the seeker, all of this while the dark paladin player keeps whining about his death.
So yeah, tell me your stories.
