Sorry for being totally lat h, e ith t is update. I am a
master procrastinator. But: hey, every F) user is per default.
Anyhow, there has been quite a good response towards the
idea of holding a Data 2 Fl tournament. I will try to save the
names of all those whom have shown interest so that I may
notify you whenever there' s an update.
Now, we have to decide some things. I will make the final
decisions, but I will base them on the general opinion.
To say what you think, respond in comments.
Now for the things to decide on.
L Rewards?
People have expressed a great interest in getting prizes.
However, I' m not rolling in dosh and as such we would need
some sort of entry fee/ item donations. Or not have rewards
at all. Suggestions are welcome.
2: How to organize teams.
I' spent some thought to this, and I think that letting
people whom already have teams participate with their
teams while people without teams will be paired up with
other Fl users would be a good idea. Opinions?
3: Solo tournament?
There were some thoughts regarding having a solo
tournament ( mid?) as well as a team tournament. Is
this something you guys want?
4: A stream.
People expressed an interest in having a stream for the
tournament. Initially I only thought of streaming the finals,
but if you are interested in seeing more we could try to find
a way.
S: Tournament format.
My idea was to first have every team face each other in
Best of Threes, then having the top four teams play double
elimination, the standard in Dota tournaments. If you don' t
know what it is, you can google it. However, if you have a
suggestion, just say so.
ti: When?
I picked a sorta bad time to try to get this going. But we
need to decide upon some general dates to start the
tournament. My suggestion is that we work on organizing
this during the holidays and start it early next year.
T: Anyone want to help?
If anyone feels like lending a helping hand, just shoutout to
me. I' m not sure I need help, but if someone wants to help
with the organization, checking games so no cheating I
intentional losing is commited, etc., they' re very welcome.
B: Creating a Dota 2 Fl guild.
I guess this would be the easiest way to consolidate all
players and give out updates. I can create the Guild, but...
we need a name. Funnyjunk' s Dota 2 Guild is easy enough
to remember, but might be a bit boring. Dota] unk 2 is
possible, but might be weird. Please share your opinions
and suggestions.
9: Sighnup?
just tossing with the idea of having a sighnup somewhere
so I can easily notify/ contact/ email everyone interested.
Don' t know if there' s any good webpage for that though, or
if it' s even necessary.
just in case I forgot anything, please remind me. If there' s
