So, back when I was in 12th grade (a senior in High School), my english class had to make our own shields. There were suppose to be somewhat akin to family crest-type deals, only more personal. We got to do them instead of those stupid "name, interests, interesting fact" introductions.
Imagine my surprise when, roughly 6 years later, I find the thing in my grandfather's garage.
Now, I was a ***** cunt, so it turned out that I was the only kid in class that'd actually gone all the way to make my shield half-way wield-able.
Unfortunately, just a few days ago, I left the damn thing outside after using it to help an adorable kouhai make his own shield for the same project, and it got rained on and warped. So I'm going to remake the thing.
Don't judge me, I just did this a few second ago.
Anyway, I've already decided to make the backing of the shield out of layered 1" x 4"s cut to length, but I need to know exactly how thick the steel sheet I'll face this with needs to be. I was thinking something like 1/10 of an inch thick, but that's just spit-balling.
BTW I have a sword to go with it which i'll be soaking in vinegar soon to remove the rust from. If anyone else knows another way to do it, I'm open to suggestions.
That's superglue to fix where the string had been cut, not jizz.
