I can explain us army ranks pretty well, or give good shot at marines or airforce, but I'm a little iffy on the navy's ranks their **** is a lot more complicated

I got USMC if you need help.
Most significant divergence for us is how we treat our warrant officers, the WO position called "Gunner" that is refered to by "Mr. Last name" instead of rank and the impact of our ranks vs yours. Our cpls do a ******** more and are more historically linear, and you'll not find a gunnery Sgt in a freaking Humvee turret as his billet like you will an SFC.

They have something like that for when you first enlist so you can enter at a higher rank, but mostly there are no written tests for promotion. The first 4 enlisted ranks are automatic unless you mess up somehow, but the 4th rank is a little different as it can either be either Specialist or Corperal, its the same pay grade but Corperal is a noncommisioned officer. Sergeant and Staff Sargeant are the first ranks you have to be selected for, you become eligeable for promotion based off PT, rifle qualification, awards, and education then have to pass a board and get approved by your commander. After that all the promotions are decided by the department of the army based off of experience and performance.

Well, Geoff johns made Superboy a half-Superman, half-Lex Luthor hybrid when he got a writing gig at DC because that was his headcanon, so we only need someone on /co/ to become a writer at DC and we're golden. Although we might need a /co/-/fit/ crossposter, because DC is filled with DChads.

Dogs aren't colorblind, but they cannot see red, so orange is a really dark yellow them and red appears straight up böack to them.

I remember reading somewhere that they are distinctly separate from most single-cell organisms in that they are incapable of any sort of mental processing and lack the most defining traits of other single-cell organisms, which is why viruses in particular are much more difficult to treat than regular illnesses. I guess the best way to describe it would be that they are more of a "force of nature" than a regular single-cell organism.

But this was way back in Grade 10 and Biology is not what I have a degree in, so it's very likely that I am wrong.

The topic of Viruses being a living organism is still debated amongst the scientific community as they do not share the same requirements to "BE" a living organism yet it still passes on some of the checks such as it being able to move and reproduce yet it doesn't grow and such as a normal living organism does.. it's still a debatable topic around

Disclaimer: Haven't read comics in awhile I don't think that's possible. Red Lanterns can't stop being Red Lanterns because the ring's power replaces their heart. If the ring is removed or you aren't angry enough to harness it you die. Also, this is an opinion, Dexstarr has no need to be redeemed. Red Lanterns are not the bad guys. At least they aren't ****** up like a certain other Lanter Corps who's rings take unwilling hosts and basically overwrite their personality because they think that's okay.

Blue lanterns have the power to 'cure' red lanterns of the napalm like hate that courses through their veins allowing their hearts to beat normally again and curing them of constant burning rage that the red rings instill on their hosts.

I think it's worth mentioning that the red rings DO take over unwilling or at least unsuspecting hosts and overwrite their personalities. Most red lanterns can't control the ring when it first attaches to them and become so enraged that they completely lose their mind so they lash out attacking everyone around them indiscriminately including friends and loved ones. They then don't start to become people again until the red lantern corps bring them in and do some sort of blood ritual and even after that it takes them awhile before they start remembering who they were before the ring then even AFTER that they're kept in a state of perpetual pain as the ring FORCES them to constantly be angry all the time and they can't remove the ring or they die because the first thing the ring does is replace their blood with fire and stop their heart.

A red lantern can NEVER find peace and can never stop being angry regardless of their own will or feelings and without the interference of a blue lantern the only way for them end their eternal torment is to take off the ring and die.

That being said I do agree that Dexstarr should ultimately remain a red lantern since it's so intrinsic to his character but I think it would be cool if he had an arc where he came to terms with his rage like Guy Gardner did or just to see someone that cares about him TRYING to convince him to give up the red ring. The red lanterns themselves aren't bad guys to be sure but the red rings are bad news for whoever wields them.

Did... did either of you ever read even one issue of red lanterns, even though it sucked? You guys are so far off on eveeything... theres 4 ******* rings that can repair the damage caused by red rings, or can be used with red to eventually remove it.

I mean ****, indigo and ******* star sapphire were able to remove red rings without blue, as could white, and we didnt even start on green/red combos.

Nice thoughts, but so far off into stupid dreamer land.

Redemption arc for a ******* cat. Who cant be redeemed because of his story. Closest redemption was him keeping big red asshole alive when his ring was stolen and the butcher denied being his host.

Now i see why people get so annoyed by assholes commenting on **** they never read.

And its all of like 50 ******* chapters so you can speed read it in 20-30 mins to know all this.

Hey, man. You need to relax. No need to fry people over their inexperience with the lore. If anything, your pissy tirade puts people off from the learning more. You had a chance to share story and help people understand the comics better but the way you're going at it just leaves a bad taste in everyone's mouth and puts them of from learning anymore of what the comic contain. Have fun being a bitter person, but keep it away from things people are interested in because you'll ruin it for them.

I did read the red lantern comics but only the first 40 issues in then that's as far as they had gotten at the time so I quit and from what I had remembered reading + according to the multiple wikia's I consulted before posting, only the Blue lanterns or a similar act of pure hope as used by the blue lanterns + another colored power ring could remove the effects of the red rings ALTHOUGH I was reading new 52 and DC has a few continuities so who knows maybe you're referring to something older.
I guess white could also probably remove the rings since from what I understand white is just all the colors and is basically godmode though. I didn't see much of the white power ring while reading the red lantern comics though, from what I remember it only appeared for like one panel as an 'elsewhere in the universe' thing.

It seems like you were reading a completely different red lanterns series though, if you wouldn't mind pointing me in that direction I'd love to give it a read. You need to login to view this link is the one I read.

Also **** you if you read through 40 issues of a comic in under 30 minutes. that means you spent about 1.5 seconds on every page, that is NOT enough to get a full comprehension of what's going on in a series and you really shouldn't comment on it if that's the case.

Also random tidbit, because I don't remember seeing it in here, but Mogo cured Guy Gardner of the red ring by attaching leeches to him or something like that. I didn't read the exact storyline but remember seeing that information referenced elsewhere.

Sorry haven't been on in awhile! No, it's been shown that Simon has unlocked powers noone else has (like emerald vision), but no she didnt spit out the blood, she was somewhat cured of her anger until Jessica Cruz came in two minutes later and threw a car at her, then she got kinda angry again. But when she got back to Atrocitus she mentions how she changed and hopes he doesn't notice, and Atrocitus says he can tell something is different about her
