The Axolotl - Don't repost this
I don't trust him, he's evil, so I'm just going to watermark all of these ******* photos and hide secret meanings within this text. Immense paranoia aside, this cute little thing is the Axolotl.
What exactly is a mudkip? Well it's not a fish like many believe, it is in fact an amphibian. It's a unique amphibian in the case that it does not undergo metamorphosis. Which means that unlike frogs they aren't born as tadpoles.
These creatures are currently very rare to find as they have been driven to near extinction due to urbanization and water pollution surrounding Mexico City. Mexican markets also sell them as they are a staple of the Aztec diet.
People have been trying to find ways to save the Axolotl, but very little has turned up that helps them survive in the wild. However many people keep them as pets. The Axolotl diet consists of all kinds of worms and feeder fish.
Now then, onto the most interesting topic. This creature has the uncanny ability to just regenerate its limbs. While they can't restore vital parts like brains (most of them) or hearts, they can restore their feet or tails like other salamanders. If this research is put to good use, then maybe in the future humans will be able to regenerate their own ligaments, or grow an extra penis or two.
There are 4 different axolotl colors. There is the Leucistic (pale with black eyes) similar to a demon from supernatural; Albino (golden with Gold Eyes) Like an Elric; Axanthic (Grey with Black Eyes) like my soul and lastly Melanoid (dindu nuthin) like a piece of charcoal.
All in all, this majestic piece of work is incredible and I'd definitely want to keep one or two as pets. However I don't know if I should since the species is dying out. So many animal species keep dropping one after another. Maybe one day it'll just be us humans left? Would that be what we want?
