Alright, so I'm doing this week's new today on the 18th instead of the 20th due to next few days being super busy with car repairs, vacation, and I'll have like one day to grind USJ armor and Behemoth armor.
So first thing is that Iceborne is having a weapon design contest, with two confirmed winners! Not only will there be a weapon winner, there will also be a cat armor and weapon contest as well.
Details can be found here: You need to login to view this link
First off I wanna apologize, a few days ago I said we were getting both USJ quests last Thursday, but we only got one. Apparently, we're getting the second quest this Thursday. So, you'll be able to get the armor, good cat armor (eh) and the upgrade for the katana (which is bad).
Reminder that any gunners who wanna deal high, elemental damage, to mix a piece of USJ with a piece of Rathalos armor. USJ Armor is considered Rathalos gear, so you can get the Critical Element boost from Rathalos Mastery. It's meta until PC gets AT Xeno.
As a note: Sword and Shield and Dual blades is also recommended to use this, as they have higher elemental damage boost cap than other blademaster weapons.
This Thursday, PC is also getting Behemoth! The Drachen a set is going to be meta for Blademasters due to it's high natural critical and attack boost, so getting this armor is a must. "A Visitor From Another World" will be given by the serious handler to start the questline to behemoth.
The quest will also give Gae Bolg and Dragon Soul, an extremely strong Insect Glaive and Kinsect respectively. Gae Bolg is a strong contended with the Jho Glaive for best dragon glaive, and Dragon Soul has extremely high dragon element, as well as looks really badass.
Theres also cute Moogle Armor for your cat!
Also, new Cactuar endemic life is available with this quest, with three little high-speed prickly bois being available. Cactuar Cutting, Cactuar, and Flowering Cactuar Cutting can all befound in the Wildspire Waste during expeditions, or during the special assignment.
Also, console is getting Arch Tempered Kulve Taroth! While it's kinda unknown how the fight will go, but it's going to be the same Kulve fight, but you can force her to get into her Arch Tempered state by doing certain things. Her armor and new weapons have surprisingly not been datamined, so I have no info on those. I do have a few pics; confirmed are Kulve Taroth Y armor, and one of each weapon type being added.
Also, here's some catch up on the **** MonHun movie coming:
Helman has been really quiet on what he's doing in the movie, but he did post this image with the caption "2020".
I noticed the emblem used here is the one from Monster Hunter 4/4U, which has Gore and Shagaru on either side of it, this reminded me that they had Mr. X use Gore Magala in a demo reel with it fighting a Rathalos in a shopping mall.
Mr. X also worked on the “Resident Evil” franchise visuals and special effects.
Milla Jovovich - "Captain Artemis" (UN Strike Force Leader, Movie Lead 1)
T.I. Harris - "Link" (Sniper)
Diego Boneta - "Sergeant Marshall" (Communications Specialist)
Meagan Good - "Sergeant Dash" (Army Ranger)
Tony Jaa - "The Hunter" (Field Team Leader) (Movie Lead 2)
Ron Perlman - "Admiral"
Hirona Yamazaki - "Handler"
Jannik Schümann - Ace Cadet/Excitable A-lister "Aiden"
Aaron Beelner - "Palico" (Mocap)
Nanda Costa - Unknown (Possibly Serious Handler or Third Fleet Master)
There are also some actors with unconfirmed roles, as well as roles (via script) but no actor confirmed to be taking it, we have an Army Ranger called Lincoln, we also have Josh Helman who has given no info at all on what his role in this movie is.
Finally, Hexhexhex, the guy's been datamining everything from the console ver of MHW has found out how to create Arch Tempered Monsters. Turns out the Arch Tempered State is a strip of code that when attached to certain monsters will "unlock" special AI for them, such as Elder Dragons' behavior being changed. Here, we can see AT Nerg, which shows off a new "side hop" move.
However, there is huge debate over this being real. Because it's technically modded in, it may not be the real fight, but it does show Nerg with a new attack, so the legitimacy of this being the actual AI is up in the air. No armor has been added yet.
And that's it for news. Knowing my luck, more huge amazing news will come before Thursday, but who knows. This Thursday is a big day for MHW, both PC and Console.
If you guys have questions or ideas for MHW comps or something, let me know below! I've been debating a MHW Meta Mixsets comp, but I'm thinking of waiting til after AT Nerg to make that since there will be no more updates to MHW after that until Iceborne. What do ya'll think?
