chickens were ~$4 each, Idahoan's were $1.25 each, one package will fill 4 containers. And asparagus was ~$2 a bundle. (yes I realize the asparagus is missing in this pic)
I quarter the chickens and cubed up the breasts.
made 8 servings of white meat(breasts) and four servings of leg/thigh quarters.
The Idahoan made 4 servings a bag.
vegetables are your friend, eat them.
dice up and steam some squash and zucchini, boil some carrots, steam some broccoli, mix it up if you don't like one type of veg.
mix up your entrees too. having the same thing gets boring fast. I made enchiladas recently, had enough for 5 servings so I tossed them in containers.
Make some Chinese food, noodles and orange chicken, broccoli/beef with rice.
The next time you make chili save some for later.
I have the space for 32 meals in my freezer, so I usually make meals of 6 to 8 servings and space out when I have them.
Doing this will teach you how to be independent and save you from spending all your money buying fast food all the time.
And hey, now you have food on demand, that you made yourself.
