How's your Saturday been? Awesome I hope!
Beautiful Apple Roses!
-1 pack ( 2 pieces ) Puff Pastry
-1 cup ( 320 g ) Apricot Preserves
-4 Red Delicious Apples
-1 small Lemon ( or 1/2 large Lemon )
-1 Quart ( 0.95 L ) Water
-Flour ( for dusting Cutting Board )
-Powdered ( Confectioner's ) Sugar for decoration
Preheat your oven to 375°F ( 190°C ) and start by preparing the apples;
In a medium bowl, add the Water, and juice the Lemon.
Wash the Apples in here, then move to a cutting board to cut in half.
Remove the core, and slice into thin pieces perpendicular to the stem.
Place the Apple slices in the water, and give a quick stir, then microwave for 5 minutes on high.
While those are heating, dust your countertop with flour, and bring out the Pastry dough.
Coat the sheet with a bit of flour, and use a rolling pin to spread it out to about double the size. ( 12" x 18" / 30 x 45 cm )
Cut into 6, 3x12" ( 7 x 30 cm ) pieces, and spread a teaspoon of Apricot Preserves onto the sheets.
Prepare a cooking pan of your choice, apply some light grease, and place a sheet of baking paper.
When that's done, place the Apple slices, skin-side out, along one long edge of each of the sheets ( see stickied picture. )
Roll these neatly along the length, and space them out on your pan.
Bake for 35-45 minutes on the lowest rack.
After they're done, let them cool on the pan for 5 minutes before removing, then cool completely before adding the Confectioner's Sugar to decorate!
Add a drizzle of Honey, and share this delicious treat with your friends!
