Will get lurkers and newbies to come out of their shell and post a comment?
Only about 7,000 unique users post comments per day but 42,000 or so users log into the site perday.
I make these stickies for two reasons:
1) I like to look at them in between doing server maintenance or coding stuff or research
2) To bring users out of their "shell" and get them to participate in FJ
