I mean, with morty becoming the best and most well rounded character, that has accepted the meaninglessness of the universe, but still manages to find some happiness, that'd be quite good, right? Beeing a morty seems to me to be the best you can hope for in life.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation - his personal philosophy draws heavily fromNarodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realize that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick and Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick's existencial catchphrase "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon's genius unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools... how I pity them. 😂 And yes by the way, I DO have a Rick and Morty tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. And if you actually read this all the way through, dont worry. Its a copypasta and im not serious. Nothing personnel, kid.

theres no hidden ****
theres no meanings behind meanings. its just a show with a fun and dark plot. thats all it is. the people who think its some amazing genius show are the same retards that think family guy is the peak of humor.
and be fore you say im biased or something, ive seen every episode of rick and morty, family, american dad, the cleveland show, all of that. i love those shows, but they are not genius shows.

There most certainly are a lot of hidden things on the show. When it comes to small details, easter eggs, and jokes the show is crazy. Also, there are dozens of theories on the internet regarding different unconfirmed aspects of the show. (which dimension different episodes are in, which different characters are from, what's in rick's flask, etc.)
All that being said, you're basically right. You don't have to be a genius to understand it, but you have to appreciate the fact that it is geared toward people who want to think about a show when they watch it

feel like and want to be like are 2 different things -
the topics of existencialism and nihilism do feel ...familiar, so I can indentify with Rick OR Morty to some degree (a lot of/ most people probably will).

why? because the show touches touchy subjects, that a lot of people struggle with, that only a few shows before dared to show of in such a direct way.
The show actully helped me to understand why I'm often feeling so down. (still dont know how to be happy and productive again but knowing the source of your problem is the first step to make things better...right? )
