Tbh, I don't play games all that much, I have a very niche preference for games, if I find a game I like I can play it for hours and literal days but after that I'd leave the console alone for months, seasons or even a whole damn year.
The main reason I don't feel like getting a high-end gaming pc is because I don't want to build one/spend over $600+ for one(I'm not even willing to buy next gen consoles @ $400) and even then I don't have the time or will to play over 300 cheap steam games.
even after the 300$ i will be spending on upgrades for my PC, after 3 years, my brother buying xbox one will have spent 400$ more than me, and i've gotten cheaper games and better graphics, as well as modding.
mostly due to the cost of 3 years of xbox live.
there is only one reason to use console rather than PC
and that's the console exclusive games.
unless you absolutely MUST have the exclusive games, you get more with PC and for cheaper
higher cost up front, but there's no regular payments, and all games are WAY cheaper
combining steam sales and humble bundles, i've likely saved 75% on my game library.
<- i've spent less than 600$ on that library
while it'd cost 2500$ on console
i'm a nolife though, because i'm chronically ill, so gaming is pretty much all i do.
thus getting the msot possible out of my money is importatnt to me.
I don't know about must, but a lot of my favourite games just plain aren't on PC, and a lot of the stuff I like to play in between actual releases that interest me aren't either. No Dynasty warriors, no persona, no weird **** like Atelier and Agarest War. I just wouldn't play a huge chunk of what I do if I went PC. And the games I do play on PC, well those could run on a laptop from 10 years ago so they'll always run on whatever PC I'm rocking at the time.
yeah, jrpgs are one of my favorite genre, they are often exclusive on consoles. If the tales series and persona went to the PC I probably would've consider switching to one.

thx buddy, hope you have fun playing!
the thing is I never buy next gen consoles at full price, I wait for big price drops and hardware revisions, I'll probably get a ps4 in 2017 or 2018. I just bought my ps3 a few years ago and I still have a backlog that I'm no where close to finishing.
Maybe I'd get a gaming PC if I was THAT passionate about gaming and needed that many games in order be entertained
(15-20 good games is way more than enough to satisfy me thoughout a consoles lifespan I can't imagine what I'd do with over 200 steam games)
I like the simplicity of consoles and as you said, some of their exclusives, and I prefer to simply plug and play in a room's tv with a controller than on a desk with a board&mouse, many pc gamers tell me I can easily plug the pc into a tv and use a PC controller instead but no one seriously ever does that.
"I can't imagine what I'd do with over 200 steam games"
Probably what everyone else does with that. Play only 20 or so enough to be getting their money's worth, then only spend a cumulative 6 hours total playing all of the other games. Steam Sales are genius. They successfully trick tons of people into believing that their $60 spent on 5 games is much greater value than the $60 for one console game, but then they go ahead and only play one of those 5 games extensively, thus they're really getting the exact same value as console.
Yeah, I always hear some pc gamers tell me how their $60 bought them a dozen games while $60 will only buy a console a single game yet ignore the fact that they bought an old game on sale.
I do the same thing with a consoles I'd never spend $60 buck on a game(not even $40) I always wait for bargain bin prices, in the end they are often $15 to $30 tops but that's it.
I heard that most of the cheap steam games that some pc gamers are so proud of arent even all that great anyway. And alot of them just binge buy the games almost in a collecting/hoarding way.
Yup pretty much. And nowadays it seems like half the top selling games on Steam are all in alpha, and they generally don't see the same sale prices that the big games do. So essentially, the thousands of people who got DayZ bought a far from complete game for the full $60.
I do sometimes buy games for the full $60, but whenever I do that you can guarantee I play the hell out of it. Like I bought Ghost Recon: Future Soldier for I think $50, and I played through the entire campaign at least 6 times and played the coop mode a few times as well when my friend came over (local coop is one thing pc gamers enjoy ignoring when talking about consoles. Even though most games are being made for one player only, consoles still have far more local multiplayer games than pc)
yeah, I always thought it was stupid to pay for alpha versions of games, it's sad that people more than happy and willing to pay the creators to play an buggy alpha and basically paying them to be their beta testers.
And I find it funny when some brag about the graphical prowess of skyrim on a highend pc(with mods) but fail to admit the game wasnt even a complete version and the players have to work on the game instead of the actual developers but oh well.
Also, if you don't care about graphical quality then that's almost every single argument for pc gaming out the window.
yeah, look how much slightly prettier the game is on pc than the console, it only took a $500 graphics card upgrade and hours upon hours of hours of modification...
