So a while ago I did a series of Dwarf Fortress comps. At the end of them I promised another lot of comps based on a different set of video games I love "tomorrow." It may or may not have been over a month... Oops... Sorry. But hey, a month later I'm refreshed and good to go! So without further ado, The TES comps!
Starting off with a lovely painting of the town of Vos, at the northeast coast of the Grazelands region on the isle of Vvardenfell. House Telvanni devotees will be very familiar with this port.
This was from a discussion thread a while ago about architecture in various regions of Tamriel. This was pulled as an example of the sort of house you might find in north-western Redoran lands on mainland Morrowind, nearish the border with Skyrim. I don't think this was originally intended as TES related, but it IS very lovely and I think the descriptor is a pretty good one.
This comes from a very short comic which was made as a prelude to a big lore project by one of the writers who made ES lore so fascinating, Michael Kirkbride. Expect to hear more of this guy, as he's probably the most active ES lore writer within the community. Guy just LOVES his lore, which is great, because I do too!
This is a pretty crucial moment in the timeline of Mundus as this is [spoiler] the Dwemer (dwarves) or what's left of them, coming back in a pretty big way for what's basically the final showdown. That leg is part of the Numidium, and it's into the whole "NO" deal in a big way. There's a long explanation behind that, and you'll definitely be hearing more about it as we progress. You can read the comic it's from here: You need to login to view this link
Those who've followed from the Dorf comps will probably notice this is a lot more wordy than those were. That trend is going to be pretty consistent, as there is a LOT to talk about and I spend a shameful amount of my free time endlessly reading up on this stuff. What can I say, I adore lore-rich games.
This is a picture of the Ghostfence surrounding Red Mountain which sits at the centre of Vvardenfell, on a rare sunny day. Usually it's horrible blight-ridden ash storms as far as the eye can see.
The Seyda Neen lighthouse. One of the first things you'll see when you're dropped off at the start of Morrowind. Also a great place to steal from ring-obsessed Bosmer.
Two Dunmer fishermen punting through the Bitter Coast region with a sunken Daedric ruin in the misty background. A smattering of Violet Coprinus mushrooms and Draggle-tail plants with a cheeky little Mudcrab in the lower right corner. There is something wonderfully atmospheric about this piece.
A Redoran town with a couple of guards wearing Gah-Julan Bonemold armour. You see what I mean about similar architectural themes? You don't see that kind of curved shell-like building style outside of Redoran regions.
That's all for today, stay tuned for more tomorrow night.
Hope you guys enjoyed!
