Used to work in a cinema. Autism friendly screenings tend to be in smaller theatres with the sound turned down and higher light conditions so it's not as jarring. Also they tend to have fewer or no adverts or trailers so they're not sitting there getting bored before the film even starts.

You know, I didn't realize it then, but schools in the U.S. are very anti-sexual in all possible forms. To the point of being weird.

I'm asking myself more and more if there's any justification - other than religious ones - for this.

I think it is more of a societal thing than a religious thing. I am 28 sex is not taboo for me and my peers, for my mother and father it is slightly, for their parents exponentially more.
Sex is something that strikes a raw nerve with people of a certain age and up. I think it is to them something meant to be intamite and private, a leftover byproduct of the Victorian era perhaps.
We as a western culture are growing out of sex being taboo, it is only a matter of time before a cultural shift in my opinion.

To some degree i worry about this cultural shift. On one hand we dont need to stress out about a guy with a titty mousepad, but on the other there do need to be some standards, so 4 year olds dont see someone in kill la kill style outfits in the park

No, as long as it does not disturb the class, it's fine. Of course, it depends on the teacher.
Confiscating property is actually illegal in schools, it's considered theft. Teachers can take the disturbing item away during class, but can not keep it, they have to give it back immediately after the class ended. And holding the offending item up for the entire class to see and laugh about, is also illegal, it's considered mental abuse.

In America, most schools have dress codes which involve the lengths of skirts, shorts, what earrings you can wear, etc.

If you violate these - they make you change.

Also, I wasn't as aware of it then, but in sex-education class, in a very forward manner, they taught kids that the only way to stay clean of STD's and pregnancy was to not have sex. They also taught kids that sex before marriage will damage your mind and relationship with your future spouse - and that's not because of STD's or anything - they said it was because your spouse would be upset you weren't a virgin and that your actions would make it harder for you to love your spouse.

Keep in mind, this was a public school, not a religious one. Do you find any of that weird? It's pretty common here in the U.S.

It is weird, because it is just factually wrong. In german schools we learn about what protection is. Those lies they spread in american schools would get any german teacher into court.

I agree with you. Looking back on it, I feel sorry for any ignorant child who talked away from that class actually believing that ****.

Like I said earlier, I still don't know why they say these things; it's either cultural or religious or both. That being said, cultural and religious practices have no business being in public education, imo.

In Bavarian schools we have crosses hanging on walls, religion as subject and do a morning prayer but they don't teach us ******** because of that. Sex is handled normally. It's really a cultural thing I think. I mean Bavarian schools literally are the best in germany to the point that it to be legally forbidden for universities in germany to prefer bavarian graduates over other germans and that Bavaria is consistently in the top spot of PISA that if were it Bavaria alone it could compare to the likes of Finland and Japan.

Really religion in schools is not a problem if it's handled correctly.

Oh, and religious schools are forbidden in Germany. By law you are forced to visit a public or private school, and those private schools have to follow the same guidelines public schools have. Homeschooling is also illegal here.
