So I thought you guys might be interested in hearing some of my old stories from some past jobs, names will be changed for obvious reasons. Most of these stories will be from my time as a delivery driver at a pizza place, and some while managing that same place.
So I guess the best place to start these stories off is with the story of Tom. Tom was a regular who ordered from us about three/four times a month, and I had the pleasure and honor to deliver to this guy for the very first time.
His order consisted of the Big Dinner Box (BDB) which is two medium pizzas, an order of wings, or pasta, and an order of bread sticks. three Salads, two 2-liters of soda, and an extra order of bread sticks.
I get out to this house, which was at the edge of our delivery area, the address is right across the street from a bar, and for a moment I couldn't find the place, until it dawned on me. The address is for this broken down looking shack, not even a front door to the place, windows, but they were all missing glass, and like ten cats around the place.
Now I assumed this order was for a large family, or a small party... did I guess wrong though.
I go inside, which was a terrible idea, this looked like a murder waiting to happen, and immediately I am assaulted by the smell of cat piss. Mold everywhere, nothing in the living room except for an old recliner.
I call out "Hello?" and a voice from behind a thick blanket hanging on the only other doorway says "In here". I pulled the blanket back to find, easily, a 750 pound man, sitting in bed, wearing overalls, which when I handed him a 2-liter, he takes and just pulls his overalls forward, and set the 2-liter against his chest, like that is a perfectly normal thing to do. He then tells me to set the food on the hot plate next to the bed.
Now I got the **** out of there as quickly as I physically could, the stench was unbearable, and the sight of this guy just sent shivers down my spine.
Ever since then, the story spread through the store, and eventually it became a right of passage for every new driver to delivery out to him, you weren't considered a part of the driver crew until you walked into his house, and everyone came back for the first time with the same exact expression I had on my face the first time.
Let me know what you guys think, I have a ton more of these stories, ranging from gross things like this, to slightly humerus short stories as well.
