This is Marilyn, a super blonde pastel ball python. She was suffering from a respiratory infection (RI) and multiple wounds from a rat that turned the tables on her during a feeding. She was underweight, sick, and we honestly thought we would have to put her down... but I wasn't ready to take that step yet.
Day 1) taking inventory, scabs over tail and eyes, RI, dehydrated, had not eaten in months, scars along back from previous rat attacks when sick
End of week 2) scabs and stuck shed have fallen off after daily application of ointment and gentle wipe downs with warm wet towel, have more hope that she wont be blind! RI is cleared up as well woohoo!
Month and half in) first meal!! We fed her while shedding because she was very active for the first time, looking for food. I wasn't about to deny her! Chow down mama!
2 months) look at those eyes! Shes regained almost all of her sight and I couldnt be happier
Look at you gorgeous! Now just to put some meat on your bones and we are all set
Last pic, taken a couple days ago. Shes beautiful, despite the scars and has a great appetite. So happy we didnt give up on her and that she had a speedy recovery.
