Help a fellow FJer out

Hey Funnyjunk. I am in need of your help. My Scooter which is my only lifeline to the outside world currently has decided to be a dick and break no less than 2 hours ago. I dont have the money to even get the part as i am currently looking for an apprenticeship here in Denmark. I live with a freind who has been generous enough to let me stay with him until i find a job and can get back on my feet. But my scooter is the only way i have to go anywhere as he lives quite a bit away from the nearest city. The part alone costs about 300$ and thats without having to pay a mechanic to help put it on. But ill appreciate any help i can get. Even if it hurts to ask,
