I'll have to agree here but with a slight caveat.

A good ribbing by your peers and friends is good every so often as a form of comraderie. It also forces someone to have a little bit of introspection into what they do. It's done out of a place of mutual respect and fun.

Constantly getting ---- on by someone who you don't know or have any sort of bond with other than being in proximity to, shouldn't be tolerated.

There's a difference between bantz and revelling In the despair of others. If you tolerate neither, you'll have thin skinned retards crying at every criticism, if you tolerate both then you breed apathy.

People like to test other people until that one quiet kid has enough and just guns the teachers and students down. Something similar happened to me at my school. Bullied for years by the whole class(I was the only turk) and got beat up daily. Told teachers. No one gives a ----. At some point I had enough and almost choked one ------ to death while 6 people barely got me off of him in time. Good thing too, he was gonna die, started to turn blue... It's insane how much schools do NOT give a ---- about the kids they teach. ---- this retarded system.
