Animal comp: Dog - German ShepherdflaminatorAdjust content blockingContent Blocking prevnext Prev Next DOG COMP, WOOH! This breed is known as the German Shepherd dog, or in German, Deutscher Schäferhund. They were formerly known in Britain as Alsatian and Alsatian Wolf dog. They are considered a relatively new breed as they originate back to 1899. They were originally bred to be intelligent working dogs (by that I mean both intelligent and a working dog), but modern breeding does not follow this. As mentioned, they're originally bred for the purpose of work, specifically for herding sheeps. This makes them belong to the Herding Group. Either way, since their date of origin, they have many good features which made them eligible for other types of work. They were used for other types of work as well, the most known one (in todays society) is as a police dog. Well known as members of the K-9 police force. They're the 2nd most popular dog breed in USA, and that's alot considering the population of the US. The breed topping the German Shepherd is the Labrador Retriever. Here's also a German Shepherd, pretty cute white one! They are easy to groom with the downside of that they can have a lot of hair. Their health may be problematic, they have many common health problems that -may- occur. One of them is hip and elbow dysplasia (meaning they may experience pain later in life) which further may lead to something called Arthritis. Arthritis is a form of joint disorder involving inflammation of one or more joints. They usually live 14 years long, but may live longer. There's many things that MAY happen with this breed! And I'm sorry if I didn't bring enough things about their grooming and how they are to in general. If you'd like me to put this into the other comp with a bit less about the breed in general, please leave a comment! Thank you and have a good day/night! prevnextTags: Dog | comp | german | shepherd | animal | bone | stop | looking | at | the | tags +58 -Favorite +Favorite Unblock User's Content Block User's Content
