Zebra starts with Z, which is at the end of the alphabet. This means it comes near the end of the dictionary. It is just making a joke pretending the dictionary is an actual story, presumably a murder story. The character revealed at the end is the murderer, which is the zebra in this case. This means that the Zebra committed the murder. There isn't much to get, it is just a simple joke.

It is pronounced ZED not your simplified Zee garbage. It is only zee in the american dialect, so shut up, you filthy inbred poopiepants'
User avatar #11 to #10 - nevolmon (03/09/2014) [-]
so most other consonant letters in the alphabet are like bee, tee, dee, vee. and then some random ass ************ decides that logically we should call the letter Z zed. Inconsistency is stupid and the modern english dialect is stupid.

It comes from the Greek letter Zeta, as do many other letters. The only reason it's pronounced zee is the first place was because early Americans wanted to differ from the British and started calling it several different other variations until they decided on zee. It's still only used like that in america like the imperial measurement system

Pronouncing a letter in a way that displeases you does not constitute illiteracy.
