Art Of Stealing

A photographer's camera lens is stolen from around his neck by some thieves pretending to ask for directions. They essentially pick-pocket him and then use misdirection to make a clean getaway.

im pretty sure with a big gang like that , its not "art of stealing" anymore. they might as well just beat the guy up and robbed him.

This is why if you go to tourist destination's in Europe you need to avoid looking like the biggest ******* tourist alive, with backpacks, big ass cameras. Essentially looking like you probably have about 200-300 worth of the local currency in your pocket. Smart travel tips 1: "Don't look like an idiot with a lot of money to lose"

The funny part is that because most of these people use a lot of touch when stealing, they are extremely unaware of people doing the same to them.

a friend of my dad went to india and he went into the "ghetto" part of some town there. long story short both ribs cracked, legs broken, teeth no longer in mouth. all of this for an equivalent of 2 dollars.

he then later got beat up by the indian police because they thought he was a homeless crazy guy attacking tourists. they offered him a bribe od 5 dollars to keep his mouth shut

The problem with that being that if you go to a tourist location, you most likely want to take some good pictures. Keeping your DSLR in the backpack at all times is rather cumbersome.

Yeah that was part of the plan, you can see he's relaxed and they pointed at some one who ran away to make him believe he has the lens and run after him.

The worse part is that camera lenses are costly, and the one that was just stolen from the guy is probably upwards of $700. And more than likely, the guy didn't just have a second one with him while on vacation, nor the money to purchase a new one or replacement. Bam, vacation that he more than likely spent $2000 on, wasted in 24 seconds.
