MFW I've never bought an EA game

HOW?!?!
User avatar #77 to #22 - enuo (05/15/2013) [-]
I don't play video games really, I bought a PS3 for the bluray with updatable firmware and got Little Big Planet free with it, then I bought Gran Turismo 5. I was given Borderlands as a gift. I don't even think I've pirated an EA game either...
#24 to #5 - anon (05/14/2013) [-]
So... not a single FIFA game, or a Battlefield game, or a Need for Speed game, or a Medal of Honor game, or a Madden game?

I don't know about that.

amazing game with a good ending. what the **** else was going to happen?
User avatar #46 to #21 - whycanticaps (05/14/2013) [-]
well the problem was that shepard ending up ******* over the galaxy harder than the reapers ever could. He blew up the relays, stranded most of the galaxies space worthy ships in the Sol system, and I'm pretty sure everything that had to do with Mass Effect fields just stopped working, though I could be wrong. As a matter of fact, the Mass Relays blew up, which according to the wiki "The consequences of destroying a mass relay are immense: as a huge mass effect engine manipulating massive quantities of energy, a relay could produce an explosion of supernova proportions." So in stopping the Reapers he may have just killed everyone and everything in the Sol system, as well as all the other major Solar Systems. At least the reapers just killed the high tech civilizations, and left the relays alone, and primitives who could one day rise up again.
#64 to #46 - anon (05/14/2013) [-]
The ending did got better with the extended cut.
User avatar #73 to #64 - whycanticaps (05/14/2013) [-]
I can't say Ive seen the extended ending, I got rid of the game shortly after I beat it
User avatar #78 to #73 - sketchE ONLINE (05/15/2013) [-]
that sucks the multiplayer is amazing. its very clear that everyone survives. why would there be someone talking about shepard to a small child when everyone was blown up? also FTL travel was still possible. the mass relays just facilitated warp travel. i assume they can just rebuild the relays since all of their tech was based on the relays. also i dont think anyone would have been satisfied with shepard hit the button everyone died.
User avatar #79 to #78 - whycanticaps (05/15/2013) [-]
no one would have been satisfied but the way they did it with the relay exploding.. you could see what it was doing to the galaxy as it zoomed out, suddenly the milky way looked like swiss cheese. I thought the multiplayer was boring
User avatar #80 to #79 - sketchE ONLINE (05/15/2013) [-]
im guessing you only had the first classes. the dlcs for it make it so much fun. and theyre all free. new maps get to fight the collectors and a lot more characters
User avatar #81 to #80 - whycanticaps (05/15/2013) [-]
I got the first 2 dlcs, but it was just sooo repetitive. I couldn't stay interested

To me EA's most egregious recent crime has been their treatment of Fuse, which was formerly called Overstrike. For anyone who doesn't know what I'm talking about, a game called Overstrike was announced at announced at E3 2011 and was being made by Insomniac, creators of the Ratchet and Clank and original Spyro games. They put out this amazing trailer:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQfUMw5KJ0Q

After that, EA decided to have them rework the direction because of focus testing, and then the game got changed to Fuse, which looks more like this:

**** EA. At least Activision doesn't **** with existing franchises or good developers.

User avatar #36 to #34 - thewaronbeingcool (05/14/2013) [-]
No he's not.

Publishers just use pirates as scapegoats. Microtransactions exist because greedy publishers know they can get away with it.

Pirates are actually more likely to spend money on entertainment. There have been studies yo.

it's really really easy, just look up a tutorial and you could learn how to do in like half an hour, after that you'll already know how.

I would say I never buy EA games, but that's not true.

Some of them are actually good, just published by a **** tier company.

However I only buy an EA game if it's very, very good.

Not that it matters anyway, with so many people who either don't care who they buy from or are simply ignorant to the problem.
#26 - anon (05/14/2013) [-]
To be fair, I have no problem with there beeing DLC that has to be paid for. If the developers want to add something to the game after its release, they can charge all they want for it, it's up to the customer to decide if it's worth it or not.
User avatar #33 to #26 - recruitactivated ONLINE (05/14/2013) [-]
Yeah just like they ''added'' the ending to dead space 3 in dlc
User avatar #66 - respectacles (05/14/2013) [-]
which is why I torrent all their games
User avatar #72 to #66 - killingsin (05/14/2013) [-]
Which gives them a statistic to point at that lets them say "Hey look this is why we need DRM" and everyone else have no other choice but to go "well **** , I guess you're right".

If you don't want to support EA and their business practices don't play the games that they publish.
User avatar #52 - thebtardist (05/14/2013) [-]

You need to login to view this link reported on it from a confidential source and combine that with what Frank Gibeau said about IPs needing 5 million buyers to keep a franchise going and the pitiful sales... Yeah. I hope I am wrong though, I really do. But this is just another series that EA took into the back yard and shot in the head.
