This is a fine piece of well-articulated argumentation. It's a wonderful change of pace from the usual drivel complaining about "cancer" and "faggotry," I thoroughly enjoyed it.

A simple "because **** you that's why!" would have sufficed...

Though I agree with his statements I did like all the references in Borderlands 2, mainly because, at least for me, it was a reference hunt, I loved finding these things. I didn't much care for what it was just some reference so I in my mind could go "Ha found another one"

I should show this to my friends who keep improperly using memes and describing 4chan as "silly."

I remember, about 6 months ago, getting into a discussion with my friend about memes.

He couldn't understand the concept of "not beating a dead horse." I told him that, on 4chan, when they create a new "meme", they very quickly stop using it. They don't want to, as I said, beat it into the ground.

He couldn't grasp this concept. He kept saying, "If you create a new joke, why not use it?"

One part of this discussion was rage comics. I told him that 4chan abandon them years ago, again- which he couldn't understand why. Then, I noticed something. About 6 months ago when this conversation was taking place, rage comics were fairly popular on FunnyJunk. Yet, within the last 2 months ago or so, they've become despised. Nobody is using them anymore, they get thumbed down.

People caught on. It confirmed my hypothesis. 4chan is just way ahead of everybody else.

(Anonymous because yadda yadda.)

Too long? I respectfully think FJ is one of the most Cancerous sites on the internet.

I feel that Funnyjunk needs to learn from this. And I need to be mean here because I feel that I don't I won't be able to get my point across.

Funnyjunk has to be one of the most cancerous internet sites ever, worse than Facebook or 9gag.
Because unlike facebook, it's usually just something shared with friends, or at least kept within it's perimeters (Even if they don't truly understand it.)
And unlike 9gag, they pick a meme, use it for maybe a week, then move onto the next thing, and at least their content is usually something new every day, right?

Whaaaa! Whaaaa! I used to think this was funny, but now it's too popular, so it isn't funny anymore!

QQ bro. Grow up.

You know what, **** it
I was gonna explain it, but I don't feel like it.
If you're telling someone on a ******* humor site to grow up, go sit in a corner and think about your life, because you're obviously doing it wrong.

With all of the ragefaces in the background, and the title of the video, I stared at it for a good minute trying to figure out if this was an actual video or a picture to troll us.

I've been thinking exactly this for a while now.
#28 - sloot (03/01/2013) [+] (5 replies)
I think the whole "currency" system is what has ruined funnyjunk. If they continued to let the top thumbed posts reach FP but at the same time didnt give the poster any collection of thumbs it would weed out the thumb whores in a second. That is partially why I had an old account for years with a lot of thumbs and deleted it.
#34 to #33 - sloot (03/01/2013) [-]
the guy in the video made a better point than I am right now. It should be about the content and people shouldn't care about getting notoriety for their posts. I was suggesting that the actual posts themselves receive thumbs but users do not collect thumbs and go up in rank. It is a game to the thumbwhores about posting many reposts and collecting as thumbs and going up in rank. When I used to make comics for this site I could care less about the rank and thumbs I just liked to see people reading my work and seeing what they had to say about it...
