Patriotism is honestly retarded... It's an unwavering support in the face of fact simply because you had the good/bad luck to be born in a particular geographic location - WHERE IS THE SENSE? Nowhere.

Meh, think this is a very dull view of the subject. It's like someone supporting a sports team, usually for no good reason. It's good we can enjoy little things, and make something out of nothing.

There is no logic to love either. I see your point but I don't think you are living in the real world. Without patriotism we become tools of the state. With too much patriotism comes nationalism and we become tools of the state. You appear to be thinking of nationalism a man who lived in Europe, China, Africa whatever who moves to America and becomes fond of their adopted homeland becomes patriotic. patriotism is not nationalism. In Britain I can assure you many people from the commonwealth nations become very patriotic towards the UK/England. You are thinking of blood and soil nationalism not patriotism.

If we're limiting patriotism to a fondness for the area you live rather than a a die-hard adoration, then sure I agree. Generally the term "patriot" is banded about as some sort of interchangeable term for nationalism.

I agree but much like the word racism the meaning of the word patriotism has become distorted by political correctness.
