Yes and when the constitution was written owning slaves was legal and women had no rights. So does that mean we should bring those back? According to his logic yes.

I wish that veteran had responded with that comment. I would have loved to see Romney squirm a little more.

Personally, I am just a little bit disgusted by homosexuality, but that's no reason to deny them they're rights.

I like how hes extremely polite the whole time. (the old man).

I don't read much about politics in USA or in my country (Sweden), but I don't understand how can it not have been equalized yet? Since you gain benefits from the marriage shouldn't the marriage be avaible for all american citizen? Isn't there some law that says everyone have the right to .... ?

wow.. "It's a religious question".. you're a politician! it should never be about religion, it's about right or wrong not religion!

we need more people like him in this world. most people in the world choose to believe in the words of a holy text but there are those who speak the truth and how the world should be which is equal and tolerant of others who are different. this man is my hero. screw romney and his homophobic ass.

What we need is a religious marriage and a government marriage
the complicated issue can be simplified easily.

Absolutely. I can totally understand churches not letting same sexes get married in the church or by their priests. And quite frankly i cant imagine why gays would want too. But i see no reason why they shouldnt be allowed to have a marriage ceremony outside of church with a licensed marriage officer overseeing that is legally binding that many non religious people have these days.

This whole anti gay marriage nonsense is just another example of the stupidity of letting religion having any bearing in politics. Anti gay marriage is PURELY a religious viewpoint. If religion were never a thing, the concept of non gay marriage would never have been considered and never found its way into politics.

the fact that this man is even being considered is ridiculous

I mean, I have an opinion one way and others have theirs the other. I mean thats how the world works. So I support Romneys opinion and the Veteran. But I will say Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve.

Religion should not have control over the laws of a country. That's why we have separation of Church & State.

gay mariage is a good thing, if every guy date another guy, there is more girl for me to pick :)

The thought of Romney getting elected scares the **** out of me. He would work to take away the rights of women and gay couples. He is the worst kind of person. The kind that believes his religion should be law. Women would lose the right to choose and take birth control, and gay couples would be vilified. Their rights would be taken away.
We would no longer be a free country.

I used to not care either way. I used to not care if they banned gay marriage or anything similar, like giving gay couples less rights and such. I'm not gay, so it doesn't affect me, right?
This was the video that changed my opinion... or lack thereof. Not because Romney pissed me off. Not because that man had such a strong reaction to Romney's opinion. Not even because It made me realize just how strongly some people feel about the subject.
I've seen countless videos or news stories or whatever about this same subject. None of them affected me or swung my favor either way.
The reason this made me decide which side of the matter I'm on is because I, for some reason I can't explain, never really thought elderly people even could be gay. I don't know why I ever thought that. It's probably the media portraying gay couples as two younger guys or girls

Just thought you all should know why I am no longer even considering voting for Romney.

with all the crap thats goin on i cant really take a side because i AGREE that its between a man and a woman but i dont agree that marriage is still holy because you have countries like america were they celebrate and glorify 72 hour marriages for fun. i dont know were i stand

It is not about a belief anymore. It's about rights.
Call it marriage, call it an "union", call it whatever you want, but call everything the same and give them the same rights.
They love each other the same way, it doesn't matter what you believe is right.

This pretty much sums it all up.

I totally agree with the man on the subject of gay marriage. Indeed, why the hell should a man and a woman get benefits a man and man shouldn´t get?

I´m from Holland, the first country to legalize gay marriage, and it´s one thing I´m ******* proud of my country did!

in my opinion, marriage should happen between two beings in love. no matter what ******* gender, colour, intelligence or whatsoever.
