The Truth About YOLO

This is a video by Canadian radio personality Adam Buckley, from his Youtube series "A Dose of Buckley" (if you haven't heard of it, I highly recommend checking it out). He hits the nail right on the head in this one.

best part of YOLO

Some guy: My friend drank 12 shots and died of alcohol poisoning, the last thing he said was "YOLO". theres no point to doing **** that will end your life BECAUSE of the fact that you only live once. YOLO should be a saying to keep yourself alive, like: i dont want to drink 12 shots because YOLO, i wana ****** live.

Our society as a whole has such a distorted perspective. It used to be that you knew exactly when you were an adult, you had some initiation into adulthood in which your childish life was left behind for you to be born again.

Some tribes today will take all the young men from their village and conduct week-long ceremonies where these young men are tortured and given tattoos and forced to fast for the duration of this to produce a spiritual experience. and these young men approach this challenge as Jesus approached the cross (not to spark some religion war here).

I really think that our society (especially the younger generation) would greatly better from rituals, history, and a life of higher experience in which we all know how to channel god (I don't mean to imply an denomination but refer to life force in general). We all suffer from the confusion and the lack of inner guidance that much current religion and societal teachers have for us.
