This guy is going places.
I'm American, sadly, and I agree with every thing he said there. I understand why people hate America, and I understand that we are the fattest, stupidest country.

please explain why we are the "stupidest" country, give me valid specific reasons as to why america is stupid not circumstances that occur around the world daily

Until you realize America is only good at reading and not Maths or Science. Reading doesn't get you anywhere in life. When people say they're going to college for english, I'm like, and what are you gonna do with that degree? Be broke? Okay. That's why people come into America and take our jobs. It's not because they are trying to be mean, it's because Americans are too stupid to do those jobs!

I'm going into my senior year of highschool and all of my friends are going to college for engineering. Math and science are the only subject that are honestly useful to do well now, although everyone should be able to write well. You don't make money from an art degree or an english degree. And Americans are not good at math or science. I'm complaining about my own generation. And until you use proper grammar your responses are basically proving my point.

my improper use of grammar on a practically anonymous website does not prove your point in even the slightest

also you must be truly narrow minded in order to believe that you can't make money with either of those degrees

quite honestly i don't see how you could say that america isn't good in the math and science fields

you're speaking in too many absolutes with too little proof

If you looked at his chart, we're 15th in math and 17th in science. Not near enough people take AP courses either. Have you been in a highschool recently? Or met my generation?

And really, you cannot make a good living from a humanities degree. You really cannot. Unless you write a lot of good books or paint a masterpiece there is no way. If you look at the top 15 highest paid careers in America not one of them uses an art or english (lit) degree.

that charts rely on students that have only been tested, in european countries if you dont score high enough you aren't sent to a school of higher education where you would take this test you are sent to trade schools where as in america all students no matter how low they scored would take these tests thus lowering said scores on the chart

The people who took the test to make that chart were 15. None of them would be in higher education and taking that test.

they would be in high school, high school is a higher level of education
my german teacher from germany told us how the school system works the students in germany at least would have already been sorted

I was considering higher education like college. Sorry. But still, I can't they send 12 year olds off to just trade school. Anywhere. That's ridiculous because then they would never be able to do anything above basic algebra, and they really wouldn't.

But either way, if you still rank the students this way, it doesn't make a difference, America is still behind. If we want to be able to be considered the "best" country, we need to do better anyway.

Personally, I believe "No Child Left Behind" should be repealed, or at least amended because it is a completely idiotic law that works in completely idiot ways. Seriously, giving less money to schools that door poorly? How does that make sense? You should be giving them more to help with the resources they obviously need.
