hmmm story time: yesterday me and my friends went to get something to eat at burger king downtown, i wasnt really hungry since i just eaten at this indian place(shit was cash)
so i found a seat outside and waited for my buddies to grab the food.
So this swedish guy sat across me and was asking if he could borrow my phone, ''i see why not'' i said and handed it to him. After awhile he couldnt reach whoever he was calling and gave it back to me. the guy looked tired and had a broken foot and looked really down on his luck, so i asked: dude are you okay?, you look tired. He then told me that he had been robbed and the guys that did it broke his foot and he could not get home because he was broke. So i gave him 200 NOK(34,5USD) and wished him good luck home. i swear that i could see tears in his eyes when he thanked me and said that this is how humans should be.

i was out with my 5 year old nephew in a busy shopping center one day and i had just given him a happy meal but he didnt touch it instead he insisted that "we walk to that man there who has no home and give him the happy meal because he'd like the toy and the food and drink inside" i nearly cried with happiness and the homelass man was too.

Not really a big feel story or even a big deal, just felt like story time.

I was in Chinatown, Chicago, with my two somewhat bitchy cousins, trying to give them a good day as they complained in my ear and tried to get me to go on a wild goose chase for a Chicago-style hotdog stand. We were heading up the street and witnessed a black man almost get hit by a bus crossing the street. He seemed clean-cut enough, but had a sadness about him. As we passed, he began to talk about how he just wanted lunch and was between jobs (and realize everything in Chinatown that could be considered a meal is about ten bucks+). One of my cousins gave him whatever coin change he had left over from buying Pocky. I dug out my wallet, wondering what I could give him. I had intended to give him a couple of singles and be on my way, but my fingers paused on the 10 I had tucked away. Call it an act of faith, or an impulse, whatever, I handed that guy a ten and said 'Go with God, get yourself something to eat.'

He stopped us as we were walking away, and he wanted to know why I'd been so generous. He said no-one - not even his own mother (his words) - had ever given him that much. I just said 'Why not?'

I don't know if he spent it on drugs or alcohol or if he was really just a nice guy down on his luck and he got himself a nice lunch, but the fact that he appreciated it... the look on his face, the way he thanked us... It made my day go from crappy to bearable.

TL;DR I gave a black guy a ten dollar bill.

Maybe people should stop basing their entire faith on humanity on single people and events. Just a thought

Not a huge story but this picture restored my faith in humanity. In the face of war and terror this young Marine used his own body to shield a complete and innocent stranger.
