such is the life of one who is left handed
User avatar #57 to #56 - CaptainWaffles (02/06/2014) [-]
Well, he's a moron, because that has a reversible ejection port. I.e. he can switch it to the other side.
User avatar #20 - usafdirtboyz (02/06/2014) [-]
I've had a hot round go down my body armor, that **** hurts. I wouldn't make myself do this for any reason, end up with burns that look like ******* face herpes or some **** .
User avatar #33 to #20 - tastynipples (02/06/2014) [-]
How hot is a round even? Yuropoors dont get guns easily so can you compare to stuff like burning your hand on a stove or something?
User avatar #35 to #33 - instakill (02/06/2014) [-]
depending on the round they get hot enough to give first degree burns with a second or two of contact
User avatar #63 to #33 - usafdirtboyz (02/07/2014) [-]
If you were to hold a lighter flame for about 8-10 seconds, then take the end that was heated up, it would be something like that. Hot enough to leave a blister.
User avatar #2 - pikapimp (02/05/2014) [-]
they Steyr AUG is an ambidextrous rifle, so he is choosing to do that
still gives no *****
User avatar #32 to #2 - kiaserzerg (02/06/2014) [-]
but you have to take it apart to swap ejection ports. imagine a righty flipping around a corner and getting a shell in the face.
#50 to #2 - firesky (02/06/2014) [-]
Actually no, there are left and right handed versions (at least the ones they use at the austrian army)
We had 4 left handed ones in the company.
User avatar #52 to #50 - pikapimp (02/06/2014) [-]
the one i shot was ambidextrous
User avatar #14 to #2 - angelicdemon (02/06/2014) [-]
So is the P90.
I know what I like.
**** you.
User avatar #3 to #2 - horsehat (02/05/2014) [-]

User avatar #8 to #4 - rolston (02/06/2014) [-]

User avatar #10 to #8 - recoveryone (02/06/2014) [-]
Or left eye dominant :/. Right handed but left eye dominant=learn to shoot rifles left handed. Pain in the ass.
#37 to #10 - Rascal (02/06/2014) [-]
I'm with ya there...
My right eye is 20/400 and left is 20/200 so I've always defaulted to my left eye even though I'm right handed. It sucks at first but once you get used to it shooting is no problem.
User avatar #17 to #10 - Kalder (02/06/2014) [-]
neither, he is right handed. He was showing a general design flaw of the AUG in that it doesnt have a brass deflector and in situations where you would need to change shoulders you would get a face full of brass

sucks to be a lefty
#40 to #38 - datrandomuser (02/06/2014) [-]
Interestingly, the STEYR AUG A3 and a few other variants can all be swapped over to be left handed. It's one of the few guns that can do this. Other weapons, such as the F2000, have it so the cases are ejected forwards and right, away from the face.
User avatar #41 to #40 - sanbonzakura (02/06/2014) [-]
w8 if it could be switched to the left side wouldnt that mean that shells shouldt hit the shooters face?
#42 to #41 - datrandomuser (02/06/2014) [-]
If he switched it, they shouldn't hit his face.
User avatar #43 to #42 - sanbonzakura (02/06/2014) [-]
so if he would put a reciever for leftys there would be no problem?
#44 to #43 - datrandomuser (02/06/2014) [-]
Correct.

You do realise that this clip is from a video specifically made to show you why you shouldn't fire bullpup rifles left handed?

The channel is the "Military Arms Channel"

Sucks that there's not a good bullpup on the market for under $2,000. My Local fun store has an IWI Tavor with a 9mm conversion kit that I'm considering trading in my AR for.

User avatar #22 to #12 - sisterblister (02/06/2014) [-]
***** that **** sucks i grew up right eye dominant shooting and it switched and i couldnt hit a target to save my life so now i know why but all my guns are right handed and im used to shooting right handded did you have to work around it if so please give me tips
#23 to #22 - part (02/06/2014) [-]
Sorry mate, I've always been left eye dominant, so I never really had to work around anything, I originally learned to shoot left handed. My only qualm is that you generally have to pay extra for left handed weaponry.
User avatar #24 to #23 - sisterblister (02/06/2014) [-]
thanks anyway and thats great they cost more i think i will just get right handed and convert them or get slapped in the face with casing but i started shooting left handded and it changed everything i was a great shot and then it just dissapeard and i could not find out what had happened but im back to getting good groupings but my posture is not great yet

#21 to #15 - Rascal (02/06/2014) [-]
it is but you have to Take it apart to do so, he was showing if you needed to switch sides to shoot around a corner with the lack of a shell deflector it will do this. Go ahead and take that weapon apart in the middle of a firefight.

im not good with guns nor do i know anything about them, but i fired one once and the instructor told me to lean the thingymajig on my right shoulder, is it reversed or does it really matter?
User avatar #61 to #59 - Anonomousthirteen (02/06/2014) [-]
Well, many guns are designed to eject the cartridge (empty bullet shell) to the right, knowing that the market will generally use their right eye for aiming and therefore their right shoulder for bracing. Lots of other guns have this reversed, as well, to accommodate lefties. Keep in mind that immediately prior to firing, the cartridge is extremely hot, having just contained a small but powerful explosion, so touching it is generally not well liked.

Info source: Texas born and raised, I just cut my hand and slapped some paper and illustrated information of firearms magically appeared in my blood.
User avatar #58 - mrhazzy (02/06/2014) [-]
There is a gun, that can be cocked on both sides, and depending on what side you cock it, depends on what side the cartridge is ejected.
User avatar #48 - kolya (02/06/2014) [-]
yeah... **** that Steyr! **** it until it breaths!
