and here i am still not feeling, and probably unable to feel, any type of attachment but platonic.
who's the lucky girl?

or agendered person?

you might be a similar class to mine actually but more strict, that and you may still be developing as well so it wouldn't surprise me if those processes are delayed.
actually trans but i'd say that reference won't matter for long anyways.
they are also on fj and i refer to them as moths, known them for a year now, initial relationship was based on raw respect rather than physical attraction which changed as we got far closer.

any ideas on what you could make?
User avatar #314 to #313 - novabird ONLINE (03/07/2015) [-]
not directly, i need an idea then bam **** gets made and all that i need for that is people to be discussing ideas and i'll see them and combine them in my head.
i do have a project in mind but it needs solid machining rather then printing as it needs to be made of metal, imagine a dual spin kinetic dynamo with a lithium belt that is self charging to power anything you wish, works like an oversized watch but no face and has a waterproof plug on the side to connect to gear, could even build a gauntlet with 2-3 of them built in wired as a set, they free spin like a bike wheel in dual directions each collecting energy waste, one unit if built properly could create quite a bit of power with the right parts.

those jobs would actually kill me, i only work 4-8 hours max daily and get a 3 day weekend because i pull a double on a saturday till 6-8am sun so i can get 3 days of rest to recover my muscle mass because i tend to fall apart after just moving 2 truck deliveries and fixing/upgrading equipment and cleaning, i can't lift 50lbs past my waist, then again i still do a lot for someone with the huge list of problems i have and it's amazing that i'm not on disability yet as it is.

So is it like the opposite of Diabetes?
User avatar #86 to #85 - novabird ONLINE (01/04/2014) [-]
not quite, it does cause hypoglycemia though, read my link below to understand better, this metabolic disorder is so rare that research is actually scarce on it, only one in one hundred million get it and it requires both parents to have the gene and for it to become dominant in the offspring which is made rarer by the fact that it's a very recessive trait.

how the hell does that even...?
side effects?
User avatar #107 to #102 - eskaywalker (01/04/2014) [-]
Well, it's more of a energy generation/store thing: I produce and then store more energy than what I need so I have the inclination to gain fat-weight thus getting all the bad stuff about that: diabetes, hearth conditions, hypertension, cholesterol, etc...
User avatar #123 to #107 - novabird ONLINE (01/04/2014) [-]
from what i read you need to really press yourself to keep it from getting worse, that on itself seems really hard to do.

I had to sign up to a gym and do a special protein diet about 2 months ago because my weight was skyrocketing (about 130 kg) but I lost more than 10 kg from that time so I guess I'm doing good ;)

It's hard but there are worse things than eating meat all day and going to the gym 4 to 5 times a week...
User avatar #303 to #293 - novabird ONLINE (01/04/2014) [-]
try not being able to eat hardly any meat (or it will mess up your kidneys) when you prefer it and being stuck on a vegan diet when you also need the fats to keep energy up.

i'll refer to my link on post 106 below, my condition makes my body work nothing like it should, i can't get fat because i burn it before sugars and the sugars that would go into my muscles are pooled there unused instead but not in a diabetic type form.

User avatar #235 to #11 - benedicto (01/04/2014) [-]
huh....you have any mental or personality disorders?

at least you have proof that you have problems.

i have several phobias that really don't qualify as a disorder, but make day-to-day life pretty damn hard.

one of them being aphephobia.

also, i tend to have nervous breakdowns once every two weeks or so for no apparent reason. and a list of other things.
User avatar #244 to #235 - masdercheef (01/04/2014) [-]
Aphephpobia doesn't classify as a disorder?

That doesn't sound right at all. We don't exactly have the most touchy-feely society (in general) but it's still common for there to be contact between people.

Do people in your life at least understand?
User avatar #247 to #244 - benedicto (01/04/2014) [-]
pretty much. it's an interesting topic that me and my friends discuss. we joke about it, they ask questions, and i answer. though me and crowds don't get along pretty well, obviously.
User avatar #253 to #247 - masdercheef (01/04/2014) [-]
Hey, at least they're pretty cool about it. And honestly, I can't understand how anyone can like crowds anyway. Small groups of people are much preferable company.
User avatar #238 to #235 - novabird ONLINE (01/04/2014) [-]
quad split personality, ADD, an extreme version of that phobia you have, long and short term memory loss, ptsd, mood swings, mania with depression, time distortion, vocabulary and perception problem as well.
User avatar #239 to #238 - benedicto (01/04/2014) [-]
all that from the stomping?

User avatar #240 to #239 - novabird ONLINE (01/04/2014) [-]
well the ptsd and the quad personality was a dual prior due to something that happened that hurts my head every time i try to remember what it was but it must have been bad being i can't handle anyone touching me and especially hitting on me and i especially can't handle crowds but it's far worse since the last incident, basically i'm an extreme introvert now.
User avatar #241 to #240 - benedicto (01/04/2014) [-]
so.....basically hikkikkomori.
wait, how does quad-split personality work?
User avatar #246 to #241 - novabird ONLINE (01/04/2014) [-]
that term best describes it well but you misspelled it.
try this out.
chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/google-dictionary-by-goog/mgijmajocgfcbeboacabfgobmjgjcoja

i have a unique version of quad split personality, normally they all work one at a time like they are separated but in my case the first 2 switch places constantly and they all carefully debate my actions like they are all in the same place at once dimensionally with exception to 4 being it is raw rage and hatred and feeds off bad emotions and events, i try to keep it locked away or i'll lose control due to just how bad it is, i only let 3 have control to get jobs done and 1-2 are about the same and the safest to allow out openly since they aren't obvious.
User avatar #252 to #246 - benedicto (01/04/2014) [-]
huh. damn, can i relate. though it's more like voices in my head telling me what to do and occasionally controlling me.

wait, do you hear voices in your head?
User avatar #255 to #252 - novabird ONLINE (01/04/2014) [-]
not quite, picture hearing your thoughts talk back to you in your own voice but with a different attitude/emotion for each one, kinda like your conscience in a way but with several at once debating what will happen next at all times, i almost never make mistakes and learn from others for this reason, 4 only takes hold if i take the wrong meds or there's a threat and it changes me drastically, being most meds don't work for how i am genetically, i can't even process alcohol and it makes me lose control even if i have a sip plus it makes me very sick.
User avatar #256 to #255 - benedicto (01/04/2014) [-]
yeah, that's what i meant.

at least you HAVE meds.
User avatar #258 to #256 - novabird ONLINE (01/04/2014) [-]
actually i don't, when i say meds that work i mean for basic stuff like allergies or being sick, there's only a few i can have, no telling what the more advanced stuff would do to me with my problems and how i tend to react, the only things i take are blue lotus tea to help with extreme insomnia and saint johns wort tea for pain and to help my head problems, as for anything else i have to use extreme caution, a metabolic disorder really effects how meds will function, they can't even put me under for a surgery because i'll react to it.
User avatar #259 to #258 - benedicto (01/04/2014) [-]
damn....
I'd probably make a joke about you being the first modern-day beserker, but damn...

so....nothing's gonna help except for that? well...i really don't know what to say right now.
User avatar #261 to #259 - novabird ONLINE (01/04/2014) [-]
actually i can become a beserker, it's my nature to function like a guardian and try to keep people safe and i'm known to be very protective of my friends(i honestly have little self value so if i deem it worthy i'll go all out), if threatened sufficiently my muscles change and my skin turns a bright reddish color as my muscles start to break down from the energy overload but i can flip small cars while it lasts, it comes at the cost of it could kill me though and always puts me in extreme pain when it wears off as well, glad it rarely happens, i'm good at reasoning with people to keep them from making me do that though.
User avatar #263 to #261 - benedicto (01/04/2014) [-]
wow.

i really wish i could meet you in real life. you seem like a nice person.
#264 to #263 - novabird ONLINE (01/04/2014) [-]
people like me are extremely rare, i only have met 2 on this site and they are my closest friends, one of them is mentally like a clone of me, the other is like me but with opposite reasons behind his actions, nice would be an understatement though, we're known for going out of our way to help people, i'm especially known for helping people fix problems, mostly mechanical stuff but i can also get into people's heads on occasion and fix them, after dealing with my problems theirs can seem so simple to me though so if i see a way in to fix it i will.
bear in mind that if no one can function or get to work everyone will go poor because no one can buy goods which means nothing gets done and things only get worse, so helping others is truly the only thing we can do to make things better for everyone and getting a job without a home or internet is almost impossible now days so it's best to do things like fix their car/truck if they have the parts so they can still get to work etc and afford a roof over their heads or they won't be able to put one there later.
User avatar #265 to #264 - benedicto (01/04/2014) [-]
so, basically, you're like Wolverine. minus the healing factor. oh wait......

yeah, like Wolverine.
#267 to #265 - novabird ONLINE (01/04/2014) [-]
well people even pretty far away know me as the bird man, i have been called that even when i was a kid due to who i am.
wolverine isn't a good reference to me though being he's not very smart in most situations and i always make calculated decisions plus i don't dice people, i'm prone to disabling them completely though unless they grab me in which case i could kill them if i don't get my room, i may heal fast but it costs me tons of energy till it's fixed, i think the stored glucose is why i heal faster though.
i have my own oc character that represents me though.
User avatar #269 to #267 - benedicto (01/04/2014) [-]
huh.....did you draw this yourself? it's pretty good!

but why birds?
#272 to #269 - novabird ONLINE (01/04/2014) [-]
vectored it actually, my drawing style is unique as well.
this is the female version i use for my alt account.
they are called the interdimensional guardians of infinite possibility and are like me but many times more exaggerated on their powers, they alter matter and reality into anything they wish at will and even shape shift for various reasons, usually into demons or other types of guardians when called for.
User avatar #273 to #272 - benedicto (01/04/2014) [-]
huh.

i think it's a bit overpowered though.,..
#275 to #273 - novabird ONLINE (01/04/2014) [-]
was kinda the point, they don't get used for anything but reactions, i don't really RP with anyone, their home land is an infinite blank dimension where they can create with no limits to what they can do and they tend to travel via gateways to get places like other universes etc.
they also justify me using anything scary or with wings as my main mascot source as well.
User avatar #276 to #11 - benedicto (01/04/2014) [-]
oh.

what happens if one of them dies?
#277 to #276 - novabird ONLINE (01/04/2014) [-]
they can't, they can even will their form to fix it or make it impossible for things to harm them and they have a hive mind of sorts as well.
User avatar #278 to #277 - benedicto (01/04/2014) [-]
so, it's basically a god.

are there any more like it?
#279 to #278 - novabird ONLINE (01/04/2014) [-]
well, i have the living shadows, they are the embodiment of pain, suffering, death and misery in a visible form, i created them when i was extremely unstable because i had 2 teeth with open holes to bare nerve tissue and i burp up acid.
they can't be destroyed but are used more as a symbol, each one has a different use, their trademark is blood coming from the eyes, nose and mouth and appearing like a transparent solid shadow that can do things, if you were to touch them you'd feel what they are feeling till you got away.
this one is burden or suffering and it can be used in an abstract way for other things though.
(need to make more again, i lost the others in a crash...-_-)
User avatar #280 to #279 - benedicto (01/04/2014) [-]
pretty nice.

wait, you burped ACID?!
User avatar #281 to #280 - novabird ONLINE (01/04/2014) [-]
it's a side effect of my high acid content, it ate a hole in 2 of my teeth thru the dentin and drove me mad for 2 months with the pain, i burp up strong acids i can feel fizzling in my throat, i had to have the teeth pulled as well while wide awake for it all, i think i'm still recovering from that torture mentally as well...-_-

hey nova.
it's been a while.I just want to say thanks, you've helped me through one of the hardest times of my (so far) life. I've been thinking, and i think you deserve a formal acknowledgement, so here, i guess.

you?
#304 to #303 - novabird ONLINE (03/07/2015) [-]
understood, just doing what i do best.
about a month or 2 ago i had my worst phobias stripped from me by someone with an even stronger gift, irony is it's also another person i helped greatly when i found them, then after that happened a week later i ended up getting with them since we're pretty much in each others heads anyways literally and turned out to be a perfect match.
if you need more communication help the new mlp board or pv are good for that since everyone there is mostly nice, also other people with similar problems there you can relate to as well.
as a result of all the changes to me my personality has also been altered, my void is gone and i'm actually doing well and happy for once after 26 years, i also seem to have gotten stronger with my gift as well and pretty much everyone who has had contact with me has been effected by that in a good way as well.

agreed.
the ones involving physical contact have been greatly reduced and the one involving anything sexual is fixed now as well, i'll still avoid other people hitting on me or trying to make physical contact but at least i have one person i'm ok with now but that's also likely because i have demisexual traits.
User avatar #119 to #11 - chevah (01/04/2014) [-]
I'm like the complete opposite, I've to have as little sugar intake as possible, diabetes yo, as much as I miss all the sugary stuff it must feel like a chore to drink/eat it all to just feel normal, I admire you being able to do that.
User avatar #126 to #119 - novabird ONLINE (01/04/2014) [-]
i'm prone to eating tons when i have an appetite, basically i burn fats instead of sugars in my muscles so i have to consume sugar in high quantities if i'm active or my muscles get this.
www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/000473.htm
due to my biochemistry and my many other problems i'm prone to not eating often and also have to avoid protein as well.
User avatar #127 to #126 - chevah (01/04/2014) [-]
I'm not sure it's the same, but if I don't take my insulin my body feeds on my body fat as there are no sugar stores, it causes me to lose quite a bit of weight.
User avatar #133 to #127 - novabird ONLINE (01/04/2014) [-]
well, that could be used to your advantage in some cases, i can't gain or lose mass, i almost always seem to be exactly 136-146lbs no matter how fattening the foods are.

this gun is very precise with part tolerances as close as .001" and there's no rattle like most 1911 pistols either because i perfected the flaws i saw in the design by installing a variable pressure recoil spring, spherical barrel bushing for better guidance and so the barrel can't vibrate in the frame and polished all contact points including the trigger and sear components and installed the absolute best parts i could find, it feels like glass both firing and pulling the slide.
if you truly want one you must first get a blank oem us military 1911a1 45acp and get the parts you wish to have on it and learn to install them and learn the gun both in and out, i got lucky and found a gunsmith willing to let me learn on my own using his machining tools, i advise heavy research if you aspire to have one of these.

save up, get the gun you wish to have, get a feel for it, then buy your parts one at a time if you have to, that's what i did, it's slow and tedious but you can do it this way, not like the parts will rot or anything.
trading in an m1 carbine and 60$ i got a ruined 1911a1 pistol with crap parts, researching i found more i could do and started learning and buying my parts one at a time till i got my tax returns then finished it and borrowed the milling machine at the gunsmith's building to install the parts that needed it, gunsmiths can be cheap if you find a good one.

oh, that was the raw high carbon steel price, i didn't know you wanted damascus, a small damascus knife in the 6-8" range including the handle without stone ranges from about 150-200 like you said, the stone really adds to the cost, i can also make a welded blade with plain steel tang to reduce the cost as well though.
i have to order damascus billets and get wood or antler to make one though, i'm out of resources right now.

idk man I think I'd probably take it too personal.

like could you imagine drawing something and making it perfect....having all these hopes for it.....then it doing so-so while some jerk complains about how he hates your style or whatever?

Even worse could you imagine that + a month later seeing your content doing well under some other dudes account? Or on tumblr/one of the other competing sites.

On a side note.....I knew this girl in HS who was a cheerleader. You know how cheerleaders do that think where they stand on one foot and grab the other making a straight line with their legs? She was doing that in a picture jokingly being sexy and maybe a few months later she was suddenly on a ton of porn sites. That picture I mean, she wasn't actually in porn. What a nightmare. They would say like "horny cheerleaders" or whatever.

So yeah thats why I dont have an account

my system is simple, i have a very good reputation for always delivering what i offer(scarletbirds1 on ebay but i hardly sell there), i use paypal as a relay system, i don't use a site to run a store because i have limited energy and time so when i show someone the finished product and they pay for it plus shipping once i know the cost i mail it out immediately.

User avatar #66 to #65 - ThpiderMan (01/04/2014) [-]
That's because they don't put simple cane sugar in mountain dew, they put in things like corn syrup and **** , or simple syrup. That is showing the equivelent amount, either by calories or some other means of equalizing the two.

And in case you didn't realize, Mountain Dew, and many other sodas, are just watered down syrup.

It's called super saturation. I'm having a little trouble remembering the exact science, but the chemicals they use let them dissolve a **** ton of sugar in carbonated drinks.
You know how if you spill mountain dew, it turns into syrup after a few hours? Yeah, that'd be its normal form. They put stuff in it to keep it in a liquid state, but when that stuff evaporates or leaves, the 'dew turns into sticky syrup.

I dunno, that sounds a bit too much like magic, and the lord frowns upon that

Not really. You see, materials are made of molecules. Molecules are composed of negatively charged electrons and positively charged nuclei, which attract each other.

So if a molecule has more protons on one side (like HCl, where the nucleus of chlorine has much more protons than the nucleus of hydrogen) every single electron will individually be attracted to the larger nucleus (which will also have a greater positive charge)and electrons will condense on one side.

When that happens, a region of the surface of the molecule will be covered more thinly by electrons and will be open to electrons of another molecule. Just like the nuclei attract the electrons of their own molecule, they will also attract the asymmetrically distributed electrons of another molecule. Because of that, when you dissolve more molecules in water, which is very solvent due to hydrogen bonds which work similarly to this general explanation of mine here, the molecules will be attracted to each other more, not less, when more molecules are put in the solution.

User avatar #87 to #65 - herecomesjohnny (01/04/2014) [-]
it's true though, try drinking most sodas warm with no bubbles. It's sugar water.
User avatar #89 to #87 - deescalation (01/04/2014) [-]
not syrupy consistency. turn a can of something with that much sugar in it and it would drip out in globs, not a waterfall of beautiful soda
User avatar #91 to #89 - herecomesjohnny (01/04/2014) [-]
eh, put a ziploc bag of that size in a bottle of that size and it's still bona fide liquid
User avatar #95 to #91 - deescalation (01/04/2014) [-]
If you put a ziploc bag in a bottle it turns into a liquid? it really is magic!
User avatar #97 to #95 - herecomesjohnny (01/04/2014) [-]
wait, when reading cooking instructions, when you read "add a spoon..." you really put the spoon in? wow
User avatar #98 to #97 - deescalation (01/04/2014) [-]
It usually says to add a spoonful of something. You just said to put a ziploc bag in a bottle and it's a liquid.
#99 to #98 - herecomesjohnny (01/04/2014) [-]
you really understood "put a ziploc bag of sugar" as actually putting the bag in?
User avatar #100 to #99 - deescalation (01/04/2014) [-]
You said "eh, put a ziploc bag of that size in a bottle of that size and it's still bona fide liquid" you never said sugar. You're ruining my dreams of alchemy

Pretty sure that is sodium content, cause the Dasani does not have sugar but it does have sodium.
