After playing a shit ton of Dishonored, I began to feel as if I am neglecting all my other games, so I resumed playing HL2 for a bit, and damn... The Dishonored controls were glued on me for the first 10 minutes it was so funny how badly I played :D
Took me a few seconds too long each time I wanted to switch between weapons, or crouch, and at one point I even tried evading a turret by blinking behind it, then realised how silly that would be... Gordon Freeman... With super-powers.... Because he was framed for murdering an empress... ya.. (inb4 they both have the same voice actor huehuehue)

but seriously though, the art style is so simmular it's incredible to see how much insperation Arkane Studios took from HL2 and Bioshock (two of my favourite games evar <3)

Arkane (the Dishonored devs) was hired by Valve to make a Half-Life spin off called "Return to Ravenholm," which was worked on from 2006 to 2007. It was cancelled.

Arkane also worked on design, animation, and art for Bioshock 2.

I wouldn't say that Dishonored's design was inspired by these games, rather it's the result of experience from working on two graphically similar games.

I went on a Skyrim kick after I finished Black Mesa. I kept trying to crouch jump, but started sneaking instead.

Ya that totally happens to me in every game I play after HL2
(every game other than Civ 5 or binding of Isaac, or any non-FPS actually...)

...Gordon thought to himself, as he silently stared at Alex's mighty fine bottom

Arkane studios 'design, levels and art' for Bioshock 2 and the Visual design director of Half Life 2, Viktor Antonov, now works for Arkane studios. So it's only natural you'd notice they have a similar art and design style.
