So /videogames/, where should I pre-order Assassin's Creed 3 for PC? I would like to play it as soon as it releases. I was thinking GameStop would be the quickest but I do not like supporting such stores, I'd like to get it on Steam but I'm sure I'll need to wait for days because of overloaded servers. Direct from Ubisoft?

Steam allows you to download the game early because they predict that as being a problem. So you'll have the game downloaded before it's release and then, once it is released, you'll be allowed to start playing it.

That is the pre-load feature correct? Doesn't that only work for steamworks titles?

It's not confined to just Steamwork games, it's only selected titles but generally most triple A titles get this feature because Valve don't want their servers getting downed because a popular game got released.
