We get bashed on because we get our hands dirty. We also don't go on record as claiming to have won any war (prior to WW2) which we proclaimed as an Allied victory. Go ahead and check history. You can sit there in your happy little Scandinavian wonderland, and pretend that the US didn't change the outcome of the bloodiest war in history. Whatever makes you feel good. Either way, I don't like to engage in arguments regarding geographical hubris. Because if you were born in the States, and I had been born in Norway...it would be the same argument, juxtaposed. Good day.
User avatar #208 - zuflux (03/05/2015) [-]
Can't argue with that. The states have been a great ally in the past, but as it is now it feels like something else.
I honestly don't feel that great pride for where I'm from. Can't help a little hubris, but I try to keep the "where I'm from is better than where you're from" since it really just boils down to being one person amongst billions, and where you're from hardly makes any difference from a biological standpoint.

I'm inclined to agree with you regarding the state of our cinematic efforts since about 2000. We, as a nation, have a tendency to invest too much stock into hype in nearly every form of media. The popularity of movies is now largely predicated on how loud the music is, how big the explosions are, how many car crashes and bullets can be packed into an hour and a half, and how melodramatic the lead actor can be. Every now and then, we get a gem with some substance. I think we could do with a few more.

Besides that, the quality of Hollywood movies have declined pretty harshly lately.

I understand it sounds strange, as Moss is also the word for well.. Moss.
But it's derived from an old Norse town, and back then it was called "Morse"

Sorry if you don't care, I just felt like adding it.

My name on skype is daentraya (if fj still had the ability to have capital letters in names, it would have been dAEntraya as an uncreative variation that then referenced that i have a deviantart profile of the same name) If, when my game can run dark souls with more than like 8 frames per second, we can work out the finer details. It might take some time. The wizards in this house are tardy.

I still seriously need more youtuber. I have already exhausted the ones i know who fits my criteria of not having to look at the ******* screen
User avatar #36 to #35 - zuflux ONLINE (02/18/2014) [-]
This is gonna sound really weird, but Skype can't seem to find you.

How about you try adding me?

Zuflux Eboralis Would be the name you're looking for, but 'Zuflux' should suffice.

I might or might not be able to help you out with your youtuber problems. Right now I'm on a QI binge, because I love Stephen Fry.
