Indeed it's not perfect, as I just pointed out, in a public health system the wealthy get in line for non essential stuff right alongside the average and the poor. Of course then there's private hospitals.

yeah, non-essential procedures that don't prohibit you from working will generally be downprioritized and have a waiting time.
if you work as an accountant, and have a knee-injury that won't get worse with time, you might have to wait a month or two to get it fixed, assuming the doctors have better things to do just then.
if you're a construction worker with the same issue, you'll have it done within days.
it's a priority system.
kids are always put first, then comes working young adults, then comes working older adults, then comes pensioners, then comes welfare recipents (that are recieving welfare for other reasons than their injury, if you're on welfare because of an injury, they'll rush you to the hospital faster than you can say "boy i sure am glad i won't have to pay $150 000 for this"

similarily, there's the severness priority
highest priority is life threathening issues, then there's issues that get worse over time, then there's issues that prevent you from working, and then in last place comes issues that cause minor pain in a part of your body that doesn't prevent you from doing your daily routine.

the "horror cases" you'll be served from the anti public healthcare promoters, will generally be something like a 40 year old NEET with a knee-problem resulting from them being 300 pounds overweight and refusing to go on a diet. and as a result they had to wait a staggering 4 months to fix the issue that only bothered them the 3 times a day they get off their ass to go to the fridge or the toilet.

those are the worst-case scenarios.
but i'd say that's an acceptable alternative to people dying in an ambulance, because their insurance company decided it was cheaper to have them treated at the hospital across town, and then their family being charged 5000$ for the ambulance ride and the attempted resrrection.

Because there are American doctors that are better at what they do than Canadians doctors nearby, and those American doctors are available to those with the wealth to afford the kind of procedures they go international for.

No Canadians are coming to the USA for a general checkup, for vaccines, for broken bones or torn ligaments. They aren't going to the USA for cuts or burns or other unpreventable injuries. They come to the USA for non critical surgery and such.

Right. Again, I'm not discounting the merits of public healthcare, but it isn't a perfect system either. It has its flaws just like the private model.

because they're rich as balls and would rather have their non-essential hip-surgery done right now, rather than in a month?

So it's a flaw that the system takes so long.

I'm not saying there should be no public health system but it's not this glorious perfect system like many make it out to be. It has it's faults just like anything else.

As people have said above, bits of TLOK were great, the animation and fights were solid. Maybe I just compared it to TLA to much, but I found it really hard to like many of the characters of TLOK.
