I tried but for some reason I always start NOT at the beginning (not at the ranger center) but at the first town, even though it lets me generate my own party. I think it has something to do with the way the game handled the option to start a new game. It was supposedly a whole procedure. There's even a stand-alone program that reboots the game for you, making it possible to start a new game.

1. Bungie said no such thing
2. Yes they confirmed with Bungie on the story otherwise it wouldn't be made.
3. It's considered by many fans and by 343 and Bungie as canon, following the events of The Spirit of Fire and the Characters such as Professor Ellen Anders (Who was the in the main part of the story of the Spartan Program)
I'm not starting a arguement I am just saying Halo Wars is considered canon throughout the the Halo Universe

the story makes no sense in the beginning
1.books from bungie contradict what happened ion the game
2.halo wars had nothing to do with bungie to begin with, the entire thing was kind of a rip off(not saying it wasn't good, buts thats what is was)
3. anyone(not pointed at you taco) who thinks john forge is masterchief is WRONG, chief was 7 at the time, did john forge look 7 to you?
#127 - thedarkestrogue (11/24/2012) [-]
1. Yes they did. They said so in a news letter the day of announcement.
2. No they did not. They only negotiated a basic concept and the rights to use the name.
3. This argument is completely invalid anyway. John was 7. he was abducted and went through rigourous training.
He was crafted as a spartan and was only about 16 during Halo 1, which takes place over 20 years after Halo wars, where John Forge is already almost 30.

Hate to burst the bubble, but Master Chief (John, whatever people are gonna call him) was about 41 by the time Halo 1 happened. If you want math, here it is: He was born in 2511, the events of Halo 1 took place in 2552. 2552-2511=41. Just making a slight correction.

1. They'd not need to last for months, and could be built out of scrap, a single tank of diesel could last for up to 2 days. if you don't run it at night.
2. No, if the whole country is in chaos they'd find someone to authorize it, and then pin the blame on him if public opinion went against it.
3. Yes this could be a problem, but I'd think most activist would stop trying when they realized grandma was still trying to eat them despite missing half her body.
4. Soldiers aren't idiots, they'd realize quickly to aim for the head.
Also, I think rednecks with guns could alone dispatch LARGE amounts of zombies on their own. I mean there was a semi-professional hunter in Finland during the winter war that singlehandedly killed over 700 Russians in under 6 months. Imagine the kill counts that someone like that could rack up against zombies.
#79 - lemanrouste (11/12/2012) [-]
Only one I agree with is the fourth one.
First one only keeps you safe for said two days, provided it doesn't collapse.
Second one, you underestimate that durability of red tape. Red tape losses wars that could've been won.
Third one, you overestimate humanity, we're dumber than zombies half the time.

My take on number four is different, take it from someone who trained in combatives and studied military combatives, it is REALLY difficult to hit someone in the head with a gun in live combat, in a controlled firing range accuracy is not a problem, you can take your time. In the field there is a little thing called adrenaline that, while being awsome at making you ignore things like pain, really fucks up your fine motor control, (it's the reason soldiers train and drill for center of mass, its the easiest to hit without taking too much time)
#118 - lemanrouste (11/12/2012) [-]
hmm, that could go either way really (also doing combat training, military, etc.)
If they are classic walkers, although disheartening, it wouldn't be too different from a firing range, at least in longer distance engagements, it would just be hitting a slower moving target. And since traditional zombies are attracted to noise, with a bit of planning, cities could be taken that way, in a ridiculously slow manner, rather than running in, and getting swarmed in choked alleys and corridors.
Runners would cause more of a problem, and more than likely to cause massive amounts of fear, especially in situations where they out number you, that is definitely understandable.
