well black ops might be a contender for that, you aren't the "villain" but you are a murderous nutjob. and metal gear solid has some points were characters are being less than ideal in their morals
#6 - schwoazapeda (05/21/2016) [-]
>black ops

nah, black ops had that one twist and everybody lost their shit over it because MUH MURALZ
but spec ops had a deeper story that showed war as it is, fucking madness.

spec ops was about as emotional as a rollercoaster with holocaust pictures on the walls

You're obviously the kind of guy who rushes from checkpoint to checkpoint with music blasting over everything else, not caring about story, immersion or why you're killing half of the city.

go on, tell me your prestige rank

I love story, Metal gear solid is probably in my top 10 game series, but Spec ops had none of the story mgs does not even the emotional impact, you just follow a pre-set story of a jackass who commits near genocide on a city, if I was the one deciding to kill the city of my own free will I would feel bad, if I was compelled to shoot up the city for a reward/easier time rather than taking a harder path that's not genocide I would feel bad but I did nothing to that city, walker did every single thing, if I could stop him but didn't I would feel bad, but I couldn't stop him, I could watch and do nothing else. I have no reason to feel bad for what walker did in dubai, I felt worse when I shot a guy to make a mission shorter in MGSV because I did that of my own free will, I could have snuck by but it was easier to shoot this random unnamed guard than sneak past, and I regret killing him more than I regret anything I ever did in spec ops

Story =/= gameplay.

Your argument is more about gameplay than story, since the random guy in MG has literally nothing to do with the story.
User avatar
#11 - kilotech (05/21/2016) [-]
that's my point, I regret a random guy who did nothing for the story more than anything that happened in a game that was specifically meant to make me feel bad, because when you start stuffing that they did bad things down the players throat it loses all meaning had spec ops simply moved on after showing you something terrible rather than lingering on it screaming "you did bad, you mean person" I would have felt worse but spec ops just needs to have the moral high ground, even if that means digging a pit to throw you in in order to claim the high ground

Story =/= gameplay.

You can't bitch about the story when you're actually just mad that it's story telling style didn't float your boat.
So tell me again how the story sucks because you obviously didn't pay attention.

The best part: you're glorifying black ops over and over whereas the story of black ops was literally shit+ the mall scene.

#13 - kilotech (05/21/2016) [-]
I said black ops had a twist you dipshit, the only mention it got is that it has a twist were you are partially the bad guy, if glorifying means mentioning then you need a basic reading course, and if I dislike it's storytelling when the game is about as much story as a movie I can complain, because I know damn well not a single person played spec ops for it's gameplay
#14 - schwoazapeda (05/21/2016) [-]
contender pretty much means on par/superior dipshit

It's funny, you say you don't like the story but continue ranting about how the gameplay is shit (also 100% same gameplay as black ops, only 3rd person).
Ah, argument is over, you don't even know what you don't like, you're just being an annoying edgelord.

Wanna hear a joke? Call of Duty Franchise

: a person who tries to win something in a contest

anyway i'm done having call of duty brought up, lesson learned never mention a several year old game I found to be the last vaguely decent installment in cod or else I'm automatically a fanboy who obsesses over prestige despite the fact I didn't even have internet at the same time I played it, and disliking a popular game makes me an edgelord, from now on i'll follow the flock like a good like sheep and love anything that tells me i'm a bad person while also not actually giving me any real choice in the matter

bye, sorry I had free thought
User avatar
#16 - schwoazapeda (05/21/2016) [-]
Not about your ranting or disliking the game, your shit arguments are the reason you're an edgelord.
If you wanna complain about the story - bring up valid reasons why the story was shit, not gameplay mechanics.

You should train your free thinking, you obviously can't get it straight.

fine here's some problems

1. How the everliving fuck does a battalion of over 1,000 men "disappear" in a time period where almost every squad has a radio and we have planes, helicopters and satellites

2. Why were American soldiers even in Dubai of all places, because of the sandstorm? like America gives a fuck about Dubai having extra sand in it, we would throw a wad of cash and a get well soon card at them at best

3. The 33rd weren't deserving of any sympathy, they were just as nuts as Walker
#18 - schwoazapeda (05/21/2016) [-]
1) Got cleared by the story, sandstorms generates a magnetic field due to friction, effectively losing every means of communication from outside to inside the sandstorm.

2) Pic; Because the saudi emirates and america are good partners for many many years now.

3) Depending on perception I'd say that the 33rd tried to save as many civilian as possible, but walkers squad kept on hitting them.

and isn't conrad a colonel? that's not a particularly high rank all things considered, he would have a hell of a time getting over 1,000 men to actually listen to him unconditionally, and the in game 33rd seems to be larger than they reasonably should be IRL

and in response to the sandstorm magnet thing, even in that scenario there would still be methods of detection and communication, redundancy is kind of a big thing in the army
