It's probably actually character-building.
I doubt any gay couple would move intentionally into an anti-gay community to raise their kids. If anything, gay people living in that sort of community would have had to have grown up in that area, dealing with that same prejudice all their lives. In that case, for them to have the confidence to get married and adopt a kid despite the social backlash is an accomplishment in itself. It seems like people who deal with prejudice are the kindest, bravest people. I'm sure two gay people would do a wonderful job as role models for their kid when it comes to dealing with bullying and hatred, and they'll probably adopt their parents' attitudes.
Any kid who has to deal with that same prejudice is definitely going to have a hard time, but having strong parents helps a lot. If anything, an assertive kid who defends his/her parents is doing the whole community a favour by being one more person standing up for equal treatment of gays.

I think kids can definitely be evil little fuckers, but to be honest, it's mostly because of their parents' views. Parents who hate gays instil the same hate in their kids. Parents who believe in gay rights instil the same message in their kids. Having one more kid on the pro-gay side of things is probably a good thing for any community as a whole. In my town, there aren't many (if any) anti-gay "it's a sin!" faggots around, and kids don't give two shits about homosexuality, so it's definitely possible for the pro-gay side to win. You just have to crush the opposition with numbers. I suppose raising your kids pro-gay works too.

I was raised by lesbians and do agree with this point entirely. Was in a rather redneck part of the country to, so the religous right did make things rather difficult.

That being said, there certainly are a few choice individuals that choose to be gay. I have seen them, my moms have seen them and it does happen as much as homosexuals choose to live a straight lifestyle.

Norway dosn't have the same problems as most european counties
#80 - gerfox (03/04/2015) [-]
We don't? According to Wikipedia 13,2% of the Norwegian populace are either first or second generation immigrants. That's since the 80s.. Sure, we don't have the crime levels, but in the bigger cities there is a lot of africans and arabs.
User avatar #89 - SirMartin (03/04/2015) [-]
Sure, Norway have immigration, that just tells us how good country we live in. But agian, every... most EU countries have alot of immigration. But we don't have as big issues with them compared to Sweden. Only downside is that we got Mullah Krekar and Arfan Batti and of couse does Somalian who sells drugs in Oslo.

#107 - gerfox (03/04/2015) [-]
Compared to our already existing populace we have a lot of immigration. I think Sweden is the only ones who let in more immigrants compared to the number of people living in their country every year if i remember correctly. Sure, we don't have big issues with them, but really, neither does Sweden. SD grew because no one wanted to talk about immigration politics, and they also only want to limit immigration - not stop it, like for instance FRP used to advocate in Norway. The problems Sweden face, if you look at it neutrally, about excessive political correctness etc. is really just something they have put on themselves.

According to the same demographic study 51% of the immigrants are from other western countries, while 49% have a non-western background.
