That is not entirely true. Engineers do lots of research and break new grounds as well. Engineers find the limits of the knowledge they are given and find ways to use it that some may never have dreamed of. With out engineers the research that the scientists do would be worthless. In the end, they are depend on each other and are equity difficult. That's how I think of it anyways.

Engineers can be scientists too. That's why they have PhDs in engineering.

The only difference between scientist and engineers is one focuses solely on research and the other takes the research they do and apply it.

True, however, I give more intelectual credit personally to discovery and research than to improvement and application. I find breaking new grounds, reasoning, comming up with a logical explanation and demonstrating its validness more intelectually exhausting than finding a use for said knowledge and improving its apllied efficiency. Coming up with a formula, knowing and showing why it works its harder than just using it to solve practical problems

Also, engineers need scientist to obtain new knowledge from nature in order for them to work.

I'd say scientists = engineers. Scientists figure shit out, engineers make that shit happen.

Pic kinda related
#38 - anon (11/02/2014) [-]
no lol. engineering is not science in the traditional sense nigguh
#51 - anon (11/02/2014) [-]
Traditional sense?
The only "traditional" scientist out there are making new lines of makeup and boner pills.

Im saying engineering is equal in importance to science, not that its the same thing.
