Oh I'm so sorry I didn't realize I was talking to a kid who took one class, and learned about this only less than a month ago. I should have left it to the pros such as yourself.

Seriously, if your kid drinks bleach have them drink milk. Also avoid throwing up, unless you think exposing your sensitive linings in your body to bleach is a good idea. Depending on the amount you may have to get your stomach pumped.

Don't listen to this "expert" unless you actually think "hurr durr anons can't possibly be educated about this"

I'm not just a kid, and I only said we specifically learned about bleach around a month ago. I have had 4 years now of intense courses including organic chemistry, physiology, anatomy, medicinal biochemistry, microbiology, pharmacology, pharmacotherapy, biopharmaceutics, toxicology, etc. I will be a doctor of pharmacy when I am done.

When they pump your stomach, it is just simulated vomiting. In many cases vomiting is good. It gets rid of poisons and such that haven't been absorbed yet.
Less bad stuff in your body = good (I hope that isn't too advanced for you)

Don't listen to this "anon" unless you actually thing "hurr durr pharmacists and doctors can't possibly be educated about matters of health"

now, wait a good god damned minute. You're saying to NOT let it touch the sensitive linings of the kids body via vomiting, when if he drank the bleach, it already came into contact with it.

No, your body tries to secrete enough acid to acidify everything in your stomach, but because there is a very basic substance (bleach) that may be difficult and result in a more neutral than acidic solution.

yeah seriously, their kid'll be fine, I mean shit, throw a kid down the stairs and he'll be fine, he can drink a little bit of bleach

Do not listen to this. People need to get medical attention to get their stomach pumped. Also you should encourage people to not throw up as throwing up can cause even more damage.
#95 - yaysuperduper (03/29/2013) [-]
You don't need to get your stomach pumped. You don't force them to throw up, but if the bleach makes them throw up you let it happen. There is a reason your body has that reflex, to get rid of the stuff yourself.

I learned about bleach in my toxicology class less than a month ago. I'm pretty sure my toxicology professor knows more about bleach than an anonymous user on the internet.
