well, i don't know, how much do you know about this conflict, but it doesn't matter, where the BUK system was, after all, Sloviansk is still UKRAINE territory ... the fact is, that it WAS probably shot down by UKRAIAN separatist, who are basicaly a fascistic part of the previous Maidan protest ... realy, try to read more, they are UKRAIANS who incline to Russia and they try to reach their goals by any means necessary... the large portion of Russian guilt in this is, not the fact that they got orders from Russia (it's highly unlikely anyway) but they certainly got those systems from Russia, and since the training for shooting from BUK systems take at least 6 months to master, it's highly possible, that the shooter were trained Russian soldiers ... there is no profit for ukraine army in shooting down a fucking airplane full of civilians to get edgy in a conflict, that they were actualy winning ...

Lol yeah keep telling yourself that...
the plane was shot down because it was showing up on radar as an f18 fighter, not as a civilian aircraft, and because of that any attempts to hail were pointless as there were trying to contact the plane on the military channel not the civilian channel.

The BUK M1 missile system has a hardcoded IFF that tells the operator if his target is military or civilian. There were other airliners at the same altitude, on the same flight path, on either side of this one, about 15miles away in each direction. Both sides report that the Rebels had downed a Ukrainian attack jet in almost the same location less than an hour before. Ukraine has a number of BUK SAMs as well; they're not uniquely Russian. In fact, all data points to the system that shot down that airliner to be an older model (like the Ukrainians have), and not a newer Russian-owned version.

Im not Heinrich Hertz but im pretty fucking sure that an f18 (which the Ukranians dont have or use btw) doesnt register on radar the same as a 300 passenger civilian plane.

Wait, are you talking about the iranian plane or the Malaysian plane?

We're just putting this on an internet contiguous United States perspective.

Completely understand where you're coming from, the shit that's happening with Gaza, Israel and Syria is fucked but... majority spoiled Americans here on FJ that cry about their "problems".

I actually tried to join the military, and they wouldn't take me because of my knees. Wouldn't take my brother, either, though his reason was a little more understandable. Had a rod in his leg.
