I know I responded to your other comment, but this is false. I just did some research of my own and using what I know about science. 1)The sun is growing in mass and heat intensity actually. 2) Meaning it is getting closer to the earth if anything. 3) The sun is so large and the gravity well so strong that it's impossible for the earth to move constantly away from the sun, not only because of the gravity well but because of statement 1; the sun is growing therefore the gravity is stronger. The earth is therefore, if anything, getting closer to the sun.

Your attitude right there is what I'm talking about. So what if the Christian belief is thin to you? To me it makes perfect sense and I'm happy with it, and before you go and say that I'm retarded and probably 20 in high school still, I started a year early, skipped 5th grade, skipped my senior year, and I just started my third year of college and I'm 18. I regularly keep up with politics and debate multiple atheists in a very calm and collective manner who are twice my age at least. To say atheism isn't a belief is a little off. Whether you want to admit it or not, everyone has a belief. Example: Atheism- An atheist is one who does not believe in religion or gods. Therefore; A. You must BELIEVE science or B. BELIEVE in nothing at all, which is a belief system. I mean this all with due respect and look for a intelligent and valid response. I would love to debate another atheist on religions and social politics. Please respond.

For your information, if earth was moved "hundreds of thousands of kilometers to either side", we wouldnt be alive. Earth is perfectly positioned, at the right distance from the sun, for us to be able to live here. Kinda makes you wonder if something wanted us to be here.

Not christian, not atheist.
User avatar #70 - gammajk (05/07/2012) [-]
Except that's wrong, the earth CAN move hundreds of thousands of kilometers in either direction. I don't think you comprehend the vastness of space, the so-called goldilocks zone is actually pretty big for movement.

You know there are an almost infinite number of planets meaning there are an almost infinite number of planets in a habitable zone for life as we know it. No if life wasn't on earth like we know it, it could probably be somewhere else. The universe is so massive that chances are there are a lot of planets at the right positioning. If mars was bigger it would have life, it just couldn't hold onto a larger atmosphere as its gravity was too weak. There are fossils of extremely primitive bacterium found on mars, not unlike the ones that developed life on earth as we know it billions of years ago.

Since when do Christians believe in zombies?

Jesus was Resurrected, resurrection and coming back to life, being flesh hungry are far different.
User avatar #25 - xzombx (05/06/2012) [-]
Why do you care if it makes sense or not? Let those who believe it live happy lives without ridicule. Or we can look at atheism, the belief (yes it is a belief in nothing) that something sciency happened and the world and the entire universe was made and we are accidents even though if anything little changes in the universe at all, we would die. Makes perfect sense if you don't think about it.
#28 - xxbrunostxx (05/06/2012) [-]
let's get this straight once and for fucking all...atheism is NOT a belief! that's the great thing, i don't have to belive in some magic power. it is the same to say that atheism is a religion too say that bald is a hair colour. and second, ''little thing will kill us'' is not correct. you can move the earth either way you like for many hundreds of thousands of kilometers, and yet nothing would happend. and third, the whole christianity thing is a little thin don't you think? i mean for fucks sake...to say that the bible is a legit proof of god is just plain fucking stupid. i could might as well pull up the harry potter series and call it a religion because there is so much written about himand his fancy adventures. and at last, MULTIPLE of the religious myths have been proven wrong. Jesus did not walk on water, he walked on ice due to a much colder climate in the midwest at the time.
By the way...i do not mind people having a religion, what i do mind is that religious people will stuff their bullshit down your throat 'til it come out your ass but they will go apeshit if you come with an argument that does not support their theory.

User avatar #18 - Skriver (05/04/2012) [-]
"somebody denying God's existence is provable: somebody who believes that it is impossible to know whether or not God exists" I believe god does not exist, but i believe there is heaven for those who deserve it and hell for those who deserve it. So am I not agnostic because of this?
User avatar #19 - ihadtoregister (05/04/2012) [-]
No, you would be atheist in the sense that you don't believe a god exists (or perhaps nontheist, depending on how you define each). Agnosticism requires that you believe one cannot know whether God exists; you, however, indicate that you don't believe God exists. So you're atheist. If you want to get into complicated specifics, you could say you're an agnostic atheist, i.e., one who believes it is impossible to know whether God exists and you choose not to believe that one does.

Believe in a heaven/hell is irrelevant to the question of agnosticism and atheist. Neither require complete uncertainty or complete lack of belief in spirituality. Those terms only apply to the question of the existence and belief in a deity.
User avatar #20 - Skriver (05/04/2012) [-]
i feel more agnostic than athiest. im not here to say god does not exist, but i beleive there is some sort of higher power, weather it is a god or not i have no clue. thats where i derive my idea of heaven and hell for those who deserve each.
User avatar #21 - ihadtoregister (05/04/2012) [-]
Aha, well, then you're right, agnostic is probably the best fitting word.
